So why is it necessary to move it for retail?
Because the retail customer doesn't want to look like a sponsored Nike pro necessarily.
I wear Nike head to toe and I don't always like the fact that I'm sporting six logos, you need a little confidence to pull that off. Let alone the pro issue/slim fitting stuff in the really arresting colors. Add that to a 15racquet bag and you'd better play well wherever you go
What's the difference of it above the slit versus below like all the other advantage shortsBecause their logos need to be more visible for the cameras. Totally fair IMO
How well is wellBecause the retail customer doesn't want to look like a sponsored Nike pro necessarily.

Are you saying you dont have confidence?Because the retail customer doesn't want to look like a sponsored Nike pro necessarily.

Who has brand new rackets every change of endAdd pulling up a brand new racquet, plastics and everything, with a new string tension whenever switching sides…

6 logos and 15 racket bag is me lol
The guys with ATP points or adjacent level playing at my club in various hodgepodge outfits certainly keep one humble; they do however always seem to have great shoes, which makes one feel more comfortable posing away with footwear.![]()
It makes sense for aspirational pros not to wear branded apparel. If I were them, I'd ask money to show your logo on my outfit. On the other hand, with footwear is really hard to get excellent shoes that don't carry a big logo. The guys with ATP points or adjacent level playing at my club in various hodgepodge outfits certainly keep one humble; they do however always seem to have great shoes, which makes one feel more comfortable posing away with footwear.![]()
Yep this was the gateway for me too - got a pair of vapor pros after I picked up playing again regularly, then spiralled hahaYep! I'll say that my gear craze started with shoes. Upgraded to Vapors in 2015 while still wearing tees and gym shorts to play in, and it just didn't look right. I went too far though
TBH I've found that if you're up front with it and everyone knows you're the "kit guy," and are friendly about it instead of being a diva and having an attitude, it's fine?I'd say as long as you're winning the matches you're supposed to win, it's fine to be freer with the gear
Don't want to show up at one of my UTR events in the Tiafoe tank and go 0-2
I think the loudest thing I wore to a tournament was the orange Federer 2015 AO top, but everything else was plain white.

I get more people coming up to me now asking where I got stuff, asking for help on what to try etc. - having positive interactions.
Maybe because they see my game and know I'm not a threat hahaha

Yeah, not much sponsorship at that level these days, just freebies/discounts apparently. They know that shoes matter for performance enough to require spending but they’re biting the bullet with wardrobe. It makes sense for aspirational pros not to wear branded apparel. Does anybody notice anything custom made in the shoe for Jannik besides obviously his name and the other details? Is it a hybrid? The only thing I noticed is that the shoe he is wearing is different from the stock shoe. His has a white sole and the stock has a black and white sole
Lmao on the aesthetic here
Paris Line is live on TWE and a few other places, no surprises (was maybe hoping for a tank).
