Nike 2026 General Thread

USO is a tad conservative. Overall nice, but nothing mind blowing like the AO and RG fits.
Thanks...Colors? Will they reflect last year's style somewhat (same color, but some areas are darker, others lighter)?
If you can't tell we, no problem. Thanks :)

As Nike apparently no longer appears to be interested in selling clay court shoes in Australia (or anything much else tennis specific, at least from their own outlets) & I’m certainly not going to pay €70 shipping from TWE, I’ve gone to ON. RP2 clay, RP Fire clay - RP3 clay shortly.
All the advanced young players around me are wearing ASICS tbh, with the others & just about everyone in my club gym wearing ON. Nike appears to be dead in the water; it’s no wonder that they pulled the pin down here.
I probably would’ve bought the upcoming purple V12s, but no clay no pay.

I feel like every time i see you post its about the same topic of nike not selling shoes in AU

Yep, Nike tennis is going down the gurgler; you only have to look at what younger folks in particular are wearing on court & in the gym around here - it ain’t Nike.

Only thing about Nike that I'm not liking is the fit of some of their tops. Went to wear the Advantage top again with the warmer weather being here in the UK and I forgot how lovely the material is. The thing barely goes below my waist though!

Got some Vapor 12's to replace my Vapor Pro 2's (finally managed to find the navy blue ones) and I wasn't sure initially, but after loosening following a few wears they're pretty damn nice. Enjoying them so far.

You already made it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR for the past year and a half, we cannot do anything about it and if Nike saw your complain and not fixed by now... There isn't much we can do about it.
It sucks? Maybe, but most of us want to see the new releases not the supply chain status of the brand in AU once or twice a week.

Exactly, this forum is not your personal rant

Happy for you that your part of the world hasn’t been abandoned by Nike tennis for now…
There has already been a shutdown of the dedicated design dept., clay court soles are becoming thinner on the ground in the US & Niketowns - for example Chicago & London - are not bothering to stock tennis any more. The times they are a changing & shrinking demand equals shrinking supply.

Edit: And apparently, rising retail costs, presumably in an effort to recoup losses on reduced initial sales volume. I’m sure it will be on sale though, as per the Nike US retail model of capturing the early adopters at top dollar & then eventually discounting the guts out of the substantial remainder.

RG listings and pics are up on Nike EU - won’t post them here until they are up on TW

Looks like it would have been a purple sleeveless hoodie for Alcaraz’s walk-on/post match look

Might have to pick that up for the gym :-D
Absolutely true, and the prices are insane, I wonder how many Nike will sell without Alcaraz in FO

So, I've been looking past Nike shoes for some time now (haven't bought anything Nike in probably 20 years now). And I'm curious, what's their tennis shoe quality like these days?

My current shoe of choice is the New Balance 996 v6, which seems to be a better biomechanical match for my over-developed legs (from being a youth athlete) than most of the overly-heel-dropped designs. The combo of low(-ish) drop (~8mm), very flat/"true" feeling foot bed, plus enough stack height and cushioning quality to support a 200-lb guy, just really works for me. The only issue: outsole durability — I'm into the mid-foam under the big toes in 25-30 hours, and by 35 hours or so, the shoes are completely worn through.

As such, I'm on the hunt for anything that can match the non-outsole-related aspects of the 996 v6, but noticeably improve that piece of the puzzle.

Does Nike currently have any such shoe in its arsenal?

I'm about to suggest the GP Challenge 1 but the outsole might feel hard but cushioned and the uppers are not that durable, the VC4 is a weird fitting shoe but is protected everywhere and some still use it for long hitting due to the high stack midsole.
Maybe the gel res x might worth a look in your size or half size small to see if that work, those are cushioned+durable, the fit is also weird but when you're actually playing in them is not apparent at all in comparison with the VC4 that you feel more around and on top of the shoe than the gel res that feel locked around the shoe.
Not as helpful and thoughtful as your racquet recommendations but hopefully you can start here with my experience with Nike and other brands.

@RNBABOLAT - Thanks man, really appreciate the insights.

First off, I should have mentioned I'm not hard on uppers at all, as I'm not really a slider/side-foot-dragger. So that's almost a non-factor. As such, I'll put the GPC1's on my list. Ty!

As for Asics, I had a pair of Court FF3's. Decent, but too much heel-toe drop and the heels felt actually too bolstered, and as a result of being so laterally immovable/un-tippable, put a lot of left-to-right strain on my Achilles. Not fun. But I'll have the look at the GRX's for sure.

Thanks again. Anyone else have ideas, I'd appreciate to hear them.

Did they ever really ‘sell out’, or was it a supply/demand manipulation?
Most of the AO gear that we got is still available at TO.
Probably, I definitely got sucked in by that as a week later they had fully restocked everything.

Although the RG outfits for Jannik and Sinner sold out super fast after that incredible final last year (despite being pretty horrible designs)

So I’m guessing it’s a combination of increased supply, and they feel justified to massively spike the price given how well they sold last year?

Dude relax we both know they weren’t “horrible” designs. Alcaraz’s in in particular was clean as hell. Ugly things still don’t sell when they win so they at least looked decent

I'm sorry, when you say EU, I know it's Europe but is it the Spain website or which?
