Nike Air Vapor V black colour discontinued?

I just got an email from a tennis store in the UK that the Nike Air Vapor V black colour has been discontinued.
In a local store they told me that the black version of the Vapor V was something more like a walking shoe rather than a tennis shoe and did not offer great grip.

I read also that the material for the Black Vapor V is not leather and that this material may not offer that great support because it is soft.

So I am starting to have second thoughts on the black version. But as I have seen the sole pattern of the black Vapor V is the same as the other Vapors so I don't think that the black is inferior or not a real tennis shoe. The mesh material though may be not like leather and that may make the shoe less durable and offer less support.

Does anyone have any useful info about the above?
Thanks in advance.

You are absolutely right and I will ask them about the size issue I have. I can't decide between 40.5 european and 41. Unfortunately I can't try them where I live.
Thanks a lot for your suggestion and input.

the black version looks identical to me. i would say you should rather email NIKE direct

The black Vapor V has a mesh material cover instead of the syn leather cover over the shoe. They are not identical in material (upper shoe area).

Mesh material affects in a negative way the performance of the shoe? Does it compromise its performance compared to leather?

black vapor 5s ok

I have two pair of black/grey vapor 5s and a pair of the blue and white vapor 5s and they fit and feel the same to me. I prefer the black because they don't need to be cleaned. I don't think either shoes are made of leather. I got them (the black/greys)for $89 at ******** sports.
