Agreed, they feel clunky when I put them on and move great on the court. I'm surprised by how stable and fast they are. By the way, I wear them half size smaller than my Vapors and the fit is excellent.
I went from Asics Gel Dedicate to VC4s and at first was really surprised how much heavier the Nikes were. It definitely took some time to get used to. There is a lot of padding.

But by that virtue, I agree, they are very stable on the court. Also have good traction to move around (just that I need to strengthen my quads for that weight!)

So is only the pink soled one being released? Or are they both being released?

Wider fit than Eclipsion 3 but not as wide as say Vapor X clay was; feel like a similar width to my Vapor X knits - with the bootie element.

Knit felt slightly more snug; I put it down to the ‘bootie’ element. Vapor X clay felt wider than the hardcourt sole version too - I seem to recall that it was mentioned by others at the time - perhaps due to the flexibility of the upper material?

I wonder why nike never removed the "RAFA" from the shoe; I imagine that would've led more pros to use it and in turn, better sales?
or did they bet sales would be bigger by virtue of it being Nadal's "shoe"?

That's why I quit wearing them. They quit making rafaless versions.

They look cool. But like my others by the time I break them in when they have some give the tread is worn good. I look forward to the day when we can buy flexible tennis shoes again instead of ones we can load in a cannon to defend the castle.

My experience is simple with these vapor cage 4 shoes. They started of nice and responsive. I liked them and they bended and snapped but fairly quicky the lost that. The are now 1 month is less snappy and now you really need to bend them and step hard on it to get any sort of oomf or snap to your next shot. The stiffness worked for me but I wish it had a better lockdown in the first place to use it to its advantage a little more. I was not a fan of that.

Noted elsewhere... but maybe a slight homage to his 2005 shoe?

I loved the Air Max Breathe Free IIs. Durability wasn't the priority, and the soles didn't last long at all. Air Max bubble would go just as quickly. I didn't mind and this was the last shoe my wife and I ever stocked up on.

Nice retro colour way! Think I’m still planning to go with the blue French Open ones, assuming there’s a clay court option available - you’d certainly hope so.
