Wow — how did that happen?! They definitely don't look like they have the same support as previous iterations, almost look like a speed shoe. Curious to hear your feedback when you get them! $61 bargain deal too haha
i did get very lucky haha they should come in the next few days I’ll post again what I think of them!

Got it, saw them! Gotta say not loving it at first glance. I think I was hoping for something else. I noticed Rafa wearing the current cages (or his form of them) during warmup with djoko and not the 4s.

Edit: just saw on Nike Talk him wearing the 4s during the match ... weird

Do you know anything about the release of other models besides Nike vapor cage 4? ... Return of some Agassi shoes?
They retroed the Air Tech Challenge 2 this Spring in the Hot Lava. Maybe we'll see something like that again.

And the heel? Want to like them, so it’s hard to think these will be better.
I’m told only in the forefoot. I can’t see them putting one in both or full-length since that’s the big selling point of the Zoom Zero. Will be good to have a forefoot Zoom, though...playing with your weight up on your toes when hitting almost all the time anyway.

Hopefully react or something in the heel at least.

again, only mention is of zoom in the forefoot. Probably regular phylon/eva in the heel. If it were going to be a react shoe, we’re probably looking at vapor knit price range or more, not $150–still a lot, though. I don’t disagree that react would be interesting to see in a court shoe if they could implement it properly.

tough to see how this would make it $150, whereas full zoom is $130. But i hope there’s something in the heel for that price. Excited, but hope the zoom zeros are still in production as well of these don’t work.

Full zoom is $130, but durability guarantee on the $150 vapor cage—and Rafa endorsement. Rubber added to the outsole where it’s needed, similar to the Vapor X where the outsole under the big toe is more durable than the 9.5. Kurim in the upper too with a wrapping-style lace system that holds the foot more secure along with a frame on the lateral side for stability. The Zoom Zero doesn’t have all of that, so I can see the upcharge. I’m excited because I wear the ZZs to the foam in 10 days and have my toes showing in 3 weeks, but they have awesome comfort and responsiveness. If the comfort is close and the durability is better, that’s worth $20 extra to me, especially with a durability guarantee.

I remember that Zoom Air only in the forefoot was proposed for the first time in the shoe of M. Rios 1998, Nike Air Anticipate
Good memory! I had that shoe. The sole was like cheese. Wore out in about 2 weeks.

I really wanted to like the new Cage 4’s, but from what I’m seeing I’m not that impressed. There looks to be a LOT of aspects from the ZZ in this shoe. It looks like one big sock with a heel attached. I see all the extra toe protection, but I’m not a toe dragger, so that does nothing for me. I do like the color way though, they didn’t miss the mark there. Unfortunately, I really don’t see these holding up durability wise. I’ll digress to my previous statement and take advantage of the Cage 3’s being offered for sale.

You don't wear a shoe with your eyes on court. You wear it with your feet. Lets just wait and see how it plays out once play reviews start coming in.

Its not impossible that they missed the mark... but when you have so many players wearing it before release... there must be something to it. I hope its at least as durable as the Cage 3.

THAT BEING SAID, I will also be copping cage 3s on sale.

I would liek to see a proper Cage takedown model.

The Resistance is just kind of a stiff dud. The old Ballistec Advantage takedown of the Lunar Ballistec was a great shoe. A 90-100 shoe based on durability that vented well would be great.
