These look nice, and finally a premium-seeming shoe option that isn't $160+. Any word on if/when the clay version will be available in the US? I'm guessing late April or May, if at all.

TW mentioned earlier in the thread that we will not be getting the clay version in the US. Maybe we'll have better luck next year.

These might reel me back into Nike. I’ll try them on when I’m in Houston next weekend hopefully. My GP2s aren’t it, man; it’s why I switched back to Adidas. I never really enjoyed the Vapor 9.5/X shoes since I felt they had zero forefoot cushion and the heel/ankle support was too high and my foot felt like it needed more room in that area. These look like they solve that problem.

Does anyone know if the Zoom Vapor Pros these have the annoying inward slant of the Vapor X that has given many users, including myself, plantar fasciitis. I am out of 9.5s and have been wearing Zoom Prestiges because of the old "vapor" sole. Why can't Nike just come out with one high performance normal fitting shoe without all the bells and whistles.
Interesting. That slant fixed issues I was getting from tennis shoes on the outward sides of my meniscus on the knee. Since standing in a wide stance that slant helps keep the feet straight

I just find the slant really comfortable. It makes sense to me. In a wide-based stance that we find ourselves in a lot during tennis, I think it puts less strain on the outside of the ankle.

So my black pair arrived this morning. Initial thoughts, they run a little big but I don’t mind that in my tennis shoes. Coming from the Vapor X they feel very similar. The laces are short, and to be honest I might change them to the Vapor X white lace I have spare.

initial thoughts on the tongue, weird but I’ll get used to it. Digging out my ankle braces this afternoon andI’ll see how they fit together.

i like the design, feels just like the Vapor X.

if you want more pictures just let me know and I’ll post!

Thanks for that!
Could you post a photo with the shoe flexed (on toes, heel up, pressure on ball of foot) ? Curious where the fabric bends with the new design...

Good question

That inward tilt really causes plantar fasciitis? I've had PF and thought it had way more to do with the arch support?
I am not a foot doctor but the inward tilt actually caused more weight/stress on the arch support. I have spoken to others and the same think happened to them. Hopefully the Zoom Vapor Pros will have a little less inward tilt.

Do they run longer than the same size in Vapor X? Does the tongue stay in position like the X tongue. I thought the X tongue was perfect.

Me too. I have 4 pairs left!
Just counted my vapor 9/9.5 and it was more than 3 years of shoes since I don’t play tennis much nowadays. I used play at least 4 times per a week but I am lucky to play twice per a week nowadays. A little surprised that I have 20+ vapor 9/9.5s. Definitely, I can wait for vapor 13 hahaha

Not sure on PF. But the inward tilt is terrible for my over pronating flat arch.
Yeah I am not sure I buy that story. There is a reason they made the shoe that way.

So the inward tilt seems to be a bad setup for flat feet. From the foot doc, asked about the tilt possibly leading to PF:

They 100% allow for more heel eversion, which is what you’re taking about- in someone prone to planter fasciitis/ shin splints/ Achilles tendinitis/ flatfoot pain they will exaggerate that, however if you aren’t already flat footed/ prone to those issues it probably won’t be the cause- and for people with higher arches this set up is nice because it puts your foot in less of a position to sprain and allows more natural foot flex - but if you are the wrong foot type for the shoe then yes you’re 100% correct with that

Everybody has unique feet/legs. For me that tilt helped heal knee issues the lunar ballistec caused that nearly required surgery. Had MRI and was given options for surgery or physical therapy. Switching to the Vapor stopped any pain from being caused there on court and then it took 1.5 years of PT exercises to be pain free. It could be the tilt, it could be the insoles.

I guess people with flat feet are being forced to have tilted feet and arches being pressured more? For me that tilted position greatly helped take pressure off the outside of the ankles and knees DURING TENNIS like the split step stance and shuffling etc. Don't use the vapors to walk around in though as they're meant for tennis movements.

Wearing a pair right now. The inward tilt isn't as noticeable on these. Still there but much more subtle. They are definitely narrower through the toe box. The laces are a touch slanted which is a little strange. But they feel good! Will have to play in them to get a true feel.

Very interesting. Do you have high arches?

A really curious thing, that tilt and how it seems to help some, hurt others, depending on the foot type. Do you

Do they fit the same in length as the Vapor X, or longer/shorter?

These look a lot more promising than the Vapor Reacts. I agree with consensus here on the prior iterations, which were awesome.

I might beat you on number of spare pairs(30++) but only 6 pairs of 9.5, 6 pairs of lunar ballistic (2?), 3 vapor x wide, 7 gel resolution 7, 1 c ff2, 5 babolat, some rf collectables.
but I still feel unsecured every time I can’t find a current product I can rely on. I practice 7/7 with 7 pairs shoes on relation.

`just wear it now otherwise you will have glue issues. I already have a few glue problems with early vapor 9.

I did not count other shoes if I count other tennis shoes, it might have over 40+ pairs haha.
That’s why don’t want to buy any vapor x versions. I have a few vapor x but I might sell it later.

not sure if this helps what people wanted to see. They feel nice and comfortable, just need to break them in for sure.

Thanks! That's exactly it. I have fabric top phobia in my tennis shoes and fear they all will tear after 5 matches :) At $150-$200, I gotta find a sponsor or start playing in Vibram FiveFingers.

Yup, glue issue is a big problem.... almost all my lunar ballistic shoes have this problem. I can’t wear them when court is hot: 11-3pm. One of it drop of on court completely...
I tried to glue it back and mis-alignment... and I hesitated if I want to trust super glue.....

from that one , I check shoes regularly and found minor pop opening. So I injected some super glue and it seems fixed for now.

if it drop out completely, can I bring it to shoe-smith to glue it back? I am sure they can do it but I just wonder if it’s ok with sports shoes...for casual shoes it’s not a problem...
but when you run on hard court..........

I have wide foot and vapor X out sole cuts exactly to feet at bottom. So if I go half size up, I will be standing on the hollow part of out sole.
thus, how do you compare the fitting with x? Is it easy to stretch wide? Thanks.

Once I get the chance to wear them on court I’ll do a little review. For me they fit very similar to the Vapor X but they’re just a tad longer in the toe box

No, no the TW staff quoted the price. I think Nike is trying this price point to move more units.
You were right! Picked some up yesterday, and they were only $108... I got the black/ white ones. I wanted the white but they didn't get their full order in.
