Nike Court Zoom NXT

I'd like to Point to a certain Tennis retailer that already has this new model up. Its description says it's a "New and improved NXT model that optimizes comfort, speed, and durability..." #oxymoron. I'm seeing rumors it's replacing the GP Turbos. I hope they're not true.

Commence the discussion on the design choices...

Like them a lot! They remove a lot of weight from the GP Turbo but that bridge might be a durability issue in the future if that breaks... Also the outsole pattern is a really interesting choice

Yup, interesting outsole. They look cheap to me with - especially with that stitching on the side by the heel. I guess we'll just have to see...

I hope these work but the hole in the middle does concern me as an overpronator. Sounds like zoom only in the forefoot this time so a step back from the GP and Zoom Zero. Then again I like the cages and they only have forefoot zoom.

Interesting. Will have to try on to see if actually provide as much comfort/bounce as the GP Turbos. If not, might stock up on a few extra pairs of GP's before it's discontinued. Osaka and Tiafoe normally wear GP's so if they switch for the Aussie Open this is def. the end. Should know first week of Jan. when Nike officially releases that gear.

Nike needs to fire their design team. Those are some of the ugliest shoes I have seen in a while. They better be the best playing shoe on the market because yeesh

vapor pros or cages are their top sellers anyway anyway doubt this will have any effect if its a crash and burn

The Flyplate (hole in middle plastic bridge) was started by Nike in the Jordan 34. It was called the Eclipse Plate.
It had a habit of cracking but it never affected the shoes performance . The plate was carried on to the current Jordan 36.
Jordan 34-36 which had the plate have been known to be some of the best ball shoes ever!
I think this shoes should be bangers if outsole durability is decent.

Actually I think the opposite... Some pro's still prefer the Vapor X over the Pro and the Vapor Cage is not even endorsed by Nadal or any other visible pro. In case this shoes don't convince Tiafoe and many other WTA players who are using the GP Turbos this will be the second blow in less than a year after the huge fail of the Vapors NXT for Nike in tennis

The stitching kills it for me. I'm used to only seeing visible stitches on the lower end models you'd find at Macy's or DSW.

If it somehow helps durability I'm all for it.

The shoes look far out in a good way but I'm concerned about the cushioning. I've just started wearing the GP Turbo and it's been a total revelation.

How do you know this?
Just by looking at the pictures... By removing that plastic cover at the toes and making (Aparently) a mesh based shoe might make the shoe a bit lighter or at least if the weight is now applied into the bridge and creates a superior cushioning than the GP Turbos, that might be more than welcome

How much weight you think they took off with that? 2 ounces? Or not that much...

Personally prefer the Vapor X over the NXT. We can dream about them re-releasing them!?!!

We’re not talking about pros we’re talking about consumers. People moaning over vapor x and vapor 9.5 need to get over it. If this logic applied we’d still be on iPhone 5. I’m playing with GPs currently but clearly they were a blip if they’re ready to scrap them after 1 year. They need a way bigger face on the GP than tiafoe if they were going to be anything. That’s like cilic being the face of prestige

I can't believe the GP Turbos are going. They had a short but glorious run. I wonder if they are a particularly costly shoe to produce and if that is part of the issue?

As soon as some good GP Turbo colourways go on heavy markdown I'm scooping up a few year's worth. They are a very special shoe.

I'm talking about costumers... Nike is sadly known for being less than interested in costumers OP and feedback, I understand some people might want a re-release of the 9.5 or even the CB 4.3 (Me being one of these) because most of their offerings were or aren't an update from those shoes, I use the VC but is not as good or even close to what I look for in a Stable/Durable shoe that the brand used to make... And don't get me wrong is a sufficient shoe but now we have other options more well rounded than this and I think thats the case with most of the people asking for a 9.5 or X re-release, even their pros who are "forced" to use them prefer something discontinued.
The cicle of shoes for nike is close to 2 years and the first colorways of the GP Turbos were dropped in 2019 so is more like the company policy than a sales perspective decision to replace the shoe, in that case the NXT would be the one to be replaced or ditched since that shoe is terrible and even on sale looks like its hard to bit the bullet on that shoes

Im confused on why nike won't remove the middle part and make it a two piece outsole.
Yeah like the lacoste AG-LT21 Ultra. That shoe was fine, although a bit underwheliming, but a solid performer.

Your two piece suggestion would have been cheaper to produce and made more sense but I guess this is "cooler".

Only acceptable answer I can think of is that they can make a clay version of this, which requires as much surface area as possible to be in contact with the surface.

....but there is no clay version yet LOL so yeah, awakwards.

Its a nod to the Off-White style that’s been around for ten plus years. Found on tons of Nike stuff all up and down the range in last few years.

Interesting that Tiafoe is playing in a colorway that hasn't been shared yet. Definitely intrigued by this new shoe and looking forward to the release.

Looking at the Tiafoe's foot planted on that bottom pic (^), it reminds me of the Air Max Breathe Free 2.

Yes..that's what I have been thinking ever since I go a glimpse of 2022 catalog a few months ago. They are definitely reminiscent of the Air Max Breathe Free 2 & 3s. is shape/appearance.

Shoe looks hideous along with the clothing. Nike and adidas used to have good designs. Now they are in a race to the bottom
