This problem seems to be worse with Nike shirts from a few years back (2006-2009). I've had problems with the smaller swooshes on the chests more than the bigger swooshes on the shoulders. Over time, they begin to get sticky and then start melting and smearing. The worst is after they come out of the washer and dryer, the ink from the heat transfer swoosh smears all over the rest of the shirts, so if it was a blue swoosh you end up with blue ink marks all over the rest of the white shirt. Almost ruins the shirt and you have to hand wash to try and get the ink out of the rest of the shirts. Yeah, it's a real pain in the a**. :???:
I agree, Nike needs to stop with the heat transfer logos and exclusively use the embroidered ones. Their tennis clothes are so expensive so this is the least they could do to prevent logos from disintegrating and marking up the rest of the clothes with ink.
I always wash all of my clothes inside out but it didn't help the Nike logos from melting and smearing. And, yes, I wash them in cold water, too. Also, sorry for the double post (is there an edit function on here? :\), but washing your clothes inside out is also a good way to protect the heat-transfer logos.
I feel your pain.
So far, the best thing that has worked for me is rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab. The key is knowing when to switch to a new cotton swab once you start cleaning off the smudges. Using the same swab for a while will just continue to smear the logo and make things worse.
Along with the heat transferred Nike Swoosh logos on the shirts, the Dri-Fit (NikeFit) logos do the same thing. It even happens to the first generation Featherlight hats.
Be very mindful to ask for closeup photos of logos when buying on the BAS. Logos on shirts that haven't been worn or washed in a while will also crack and deteriorate.
I wash my Dri-fit tees in cold water and air-dry; no issues with peeling or smudging.
What time period are they from?
This is/was a known issue for a specific time period, late 2000s
This means it is time to go to Oregon and blown up the nike HQ right? Or is that too much of an over reaction? Not sureAll of this heat transfer logos that ALL the sportswear companies is garbage to save a penny for them and to give us an inferior product. Back when logos were embroidered or patches on the shirts and shorts it was much better and logos didn’t fall off
Don’t buy their garbageThis means it is time to go to Oregon and blown up the nike HQ right? Or is that too much of an over reaction? Not sure
Don’t buy their garbage
That’s not true at all. The heat transfer crap from Fila is coming off or has come off, I recently bought Nike long sleeve t-shirts and the swoosh has fallen off. The lotto logo has come off almost every piece of clothing I have bought for them with the heat transfer logo. It’s a joke to say it’s only vintage clothes and was only the early days, A complete joke. Just like it was a joke when Wilson went with the rubber paint and I told Peter fig it wasn’t durable and would be peeling off. Well guess what everybody that I know with Wilson rubber paint is in the process of it peeling off the frame.Point is, they don't ALL have this problem. It was an issue in the somewhat early days, but not anymore. So punishing them now makes no sense for an issue that only really affects what is now "vintage" gear.
then pick it back up? /endthread.exeswooshes falling off
How do i reapply a heat transferred swoosh to a nadal jacket ?So far, the best thing that has worked for me is rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab. How do i reapply a heat transferred swoosh to a nadal jacket ?
The university blue one i got from **** had a sample tag on it meaning there may be defects which explains why the heat transfer swoosh is coming off in the middle.
There isnt even like anything underneath the swoosh at the bottom middle part. I see no residue maybe it was transferred like this without a full edge to edge heat transfer material?
Any way to fix this without using super glue which spreads and stsins the rest of the garment

I cant see any heat transfer material on parts of the swoosh do you think it just wasnt fully covered edge to edge rather than came off?I have yet to have anyone reapply any Nike Swoosh logos. I've learned to live without them.
However, I've had success to remove both the melted and peeling logos, along with residue. It's a gentle, timely process using the right amount of nail polish remover and cotton swabs.
Doesnt fabric glue stain the material and seap through though? I tried super glue years ago on my nadal 2011 oz open shirt and made a mess lolTry applying fabric glue and iron it for about 10-15 seconds.
If the swoosh logo is destroyed, try send it to a sports shop that makes prints for kiddies/Sunday league soccer/basketball teams (making a swoosh logo would be easy for them).

I just wan the nadal logo off it but thanksLaundry machine it for 5-8 times. You're gonna get rid of both logos though.
This sounds way too riskyI remove logos very gently and patiently using a cotton swab, paper towels (or rag) and nail polish remover. I usually go through about 10 swabs. I use that many because the color of the logo bleeds onto the swab and if you keep using the same one, it starts to smear the logo. The paper towels are to dab at any excess liquid and once the logo starts to melt down, it becomes sticky. You must take extreme care when the clothing material has color as well.
I have only done this with cracking and/or bleeding logos.
