I went up a half size, and that works perfectly for me, but in my case it's because I have a medium to wide foot.

The upper does break in and you do get extra space so it may depend on how roomy you like your shoes in the long run.

Played with them yesterday for the first time after breaking them in around the house. And wow! They really do work as rumored.

I played four sets on Saturday in my VC4s, and my feet were really sore--especially around the calluses on my big toes and balls of my feet. I used an hour of sick time and limped around all day from right knee pain.

Then on Sunday I played six sets in the GP Turbo. No soreness in the feet or joints--just the muscles, where you want to be sore. I'm sold. I'll wear out this last pair of VC4 and then I'm switching full time.

And for comparison's sake, the VC4 are also new. I've played in them 2-3 times.

With other shoes, normally before the outersole is worn out, the midsole cushioning has become so compressed and worn out that your body will feel more pounding. With the GP pros, they continue to feel cushioned and comfortable even after the outersole has completely worn through to the midsole.

Good to hear mate! They really have to be in the top 5 most comfortable tennis shoes ever imo. And its comfort without sacrificing performance.

I gave some thoughts earlier in this thread, BUT after playing in them consistently the last two months I have noticed one issue: forefoot lateral stability. Often when pushed very wide in the deuce court and making an aggressive stop my forefoot and little toe on my right foot feels like it presses/pushes beyond the outsole causing a very sore feeling pain (almost the exact position as the Tiafoe promo pic from AO20). It makes me a little hesitant when moving that direction and that is never good as the goal of a great shoe is to not have think about it about. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but with the design of the toe box and materials maybe its just not that supportive; never had this problem with LB 1.5, Vapor 9/9.5. I stand by the zoom system as being the most comfortable and responsive Nike in decades, but for me I don't think I can continue, will prob sell my extra Challenge Court color way pair and move on the Vapor Cage 4.

Totally agree with this sentiment. Played 3 times in them. I felt my foot/ankle not be as supported as with the zoom zeros. This meant occasionally they'd move and I'd feel a twinge in ankle/achilles. I also felt they didnt have as much arch support as with the zoom zeros. I also wore them with a medical grade insert and this was still the case. They are super plush though. On balance I think I will hurt my achilles/ankle more in these though. So will move onto something else. I love the zoom zero's so trying to find something similar

I'm size 13, for Turbo GP that's the biggest size I could find. I bought it online, it was way too small, so I had to return it. What a bummer, really wanted to try TG's plush support!

Latest pair arrived today. I bought the women's purple/green color this time. Paid $55 for an unused pair on the big auction site. And with the news that they're being discontinued, I might not be done.

13 was too tight, not wearable. It was not that bad in terms of length, but the upper was very tight, painful. 13 1/2 would be your best bet, 14 might be just too long. Hard to say, really. I have slightly wide feet and a high arch, but nothing unusual, I can even pull off Eclipsion 2, after all.

GP turbos are done "discontinued"? Or are going to be replaced similar to Zoom Zero to GP turbo? Also have 3 pairs already but will definitely stock up.

Do the women's fit any different given the right size? I know for some shoe companies their male and female models are differentiated by more than just size. (Extra support X place for women etc)

Sounds like they’re gonna be replaced/updated next year. Hopefully with a better fitting shoe.

Only non clown shoe in Nikes lineup for me. Your foot has to be a banana for vapors.

Hopefully next gen will have better ventilation and colors that aren't awful.

Unfortunately the next available size in the Nike line up is 14.I guess I'll wait for the updated model whenever it comes...

Generally speaking, women's shoes are narrower compared to men's shoes of the same length.

How quick? You have 2E feet? After break-in will it have Cage4/GRes8/SoleCourt levels of roominess? Did you use a shoe stretcher?

The toe box feels narrow, but it softens up during play (either from the heat of my foot or some other factor)
I ask this with no intent of dismissiveness or sounding condescending but: you are certain this expand-and-shrink phenomenon is not just you getting used to the squishiness? :(

I half sized up from my gel 8s size and they had softened up enough that the toe box thing wasn't noticeable after 3 or so sessions ~6hrs.

True to size is how to go with this shoe. It's a little shorter than usual Nike sizing, but stretches to fit an "average" width foot perfectly.

Fitment issues come from ordering too large of a size imo. It's definitely tight out to box but after 3 hours or so of break in it's dramatically looser.

Go half size up if length is a concern. As usual with Nike, not for wide feet.

I thought about this after they had broken in but there is 0% chance I would have been able to play more than 1 hr at TTS. they were that uncomfortable out of the box just walking let alone running at full speed

The uppers definitely soften and expand. I do not use a stretcher or any device. I just play in them. I recently bought 2 new pairs of GP Turbos. I've gone up 1/2 size in all of them and the uppers are tight at first but break in and stay broken in (so no shrinking). It expands to a certain point and stops expanding. And I definitely don't have a 2E width foot - wide shoes are too loose on me. But depending on the model, sometimes a "regular" width isn't as comfortable right out of the box.

Did you also go half size up when you got the vapor x's as well?

Did you do it?

No, I am a stock standard 11.5 in the vapors, whereas I went 12 in the GP Turbos. I'm pretty addicted to the comfort of the Babolat SFX3 and am wearing them more than anything at the moment, and in those I am 11.5.

It's pretty wild how much sizing can vary according to the width of people's feet, and also where that width is (ie midfoot / heel etc etc)

Check with @Rosstour as he didnt need to size up like I did on the GP Turbos and he did not have any sizing issues.

Yeah that toebox is annoyingly shallow. Never felt anything like it. More vertical crushing than lateral squeezing.

Any chance you had interest in the Diadora Flys or Lotto Mirage?

@Rosstour do you also have a wide foot?

lol hey guise

My foot isn't really wide. And in a sense I did size up because I wear a 6 in some other Nikes (Cage 2 & 4) and 6.5 in others (Cage 3, Vapor 9.5/X).

Also FWIW I just played in them tonight and it looks like my toenail has cracked at the bed. More than likely it's going to have to come off now. In fairness, I was probably going to come to this decision at some point anyway, but it didn't look like this yesterday.

Havent tried the Diadora Flys or any Lotto shoes.

The other recent shoes that Ive got sizing for are The Lav 2s (11.5) The Ubersonic 4s (11), Gel res 8 (still 11.5 but Asics messed with the width of the GRs and they are narrower now).

i bought these in my regular tenny shoe/running shoe size, which is a half size up from my dress shoes. the toe box was initially shallow and i thought they wouldnt work. it broke in after an hour or two though and now im a complete convert. they still feel like clown shoes, but i need the cushioning.

I have wide feet too but my issue is less on the side of the foot but more so directly underneath

Are the bases of the vapor x and cage 4 actually wider or is it just the upper mesh on top which sits higher so feels like the shoe is wider?

Im surprised noone else has a similar issue as me where the outer edge of the shoe on the left side im literally stepping on which is hard presses up on the 4th and 5th toe section but behind on i think it is called the forefoot.

Having an upper toebox which is higher wont help me unless the actual base of the shoe is wider

I see what you mean. The vapor X sizing probably does have a lot to do with that adaptive fit.

How long have you been wearing the GP Turbos for? Would you describe them as "broken in" but still not comfortable to wear?

I just put two offers in on the 'bay. These shoes are just too good.

I've been upping the ante on my movement lately, especially the airtime on BH slice approaches. Today I felt myself go airborne and just kinda keep going, and I thought "oh sh1t, I've done it now". Nope! These shoes are like pillows--I don't even remember the impact on landing. Incredible. Three sets on hard courts today and I don't feel a thing.

I haven't worn them at all i tried a pair on yesterday in size 10 uk so 11 US and the toe box height was too low

Have been using the US Open GP Turbos (w. Yellow swoosh on side) in true to size 8.5 US. Love them. Wanted to pick up a few of the older pairs. Got the “Tech Challenge” version from 08/2020 in 8.5 but unfortunately the toe box is too small. Does anyone know if the older GP Turbos ran smaller than the current models? Thanks.
