Nike Vapor X for clay

Hi

Im currently using the Nike Vapor Tour 9.5 clay for clay courts, but I found that this version weights much more than the all court version.

The same goes for the new Vapor X.

Do you think I can use the Vapor X All court for clay courts? I really want the lighter weight but of course I dont want the shoe to be too slippery.

Thanks.

Probably depends quite a bit on your level of play/movement. If you're flying around the court and sliding you'll probably notice the decrease in traction, but if you're just an average rec player it probably won't make a difference.
The all courts tread pattern on the vapor x does look particularly shallow/not ideal for clay. Does the clay court version have the tighter woven upper like 9.5s did? I hated that...

I wear Vapor X all court on Har Tru with no issues. I have worn Vapor 9.5 all court and clay sole on Har Tru. I had some traction issues with the all court 9.5's but no none with the X's. I can't say that I can tell the difference between the all court X's and the clay court 9.5 even with the much different sole. I get a lot of bite with the Vapor X sole. After a couple games, the baseline looks like I've played a couple sets. If you play both clay and hard court, I'd suggest having a pair that you only use on clay. I suspect once you get hard court wear on the X sole, you'll have a big drop off in traction on clay.

Keeps your foot in well, no breath ability unless unzipped, and it’s still not much.

Do you find that for vapor 10, the clay model is heavier than the all court model? at the expense of what is reported on the sites, it seems to me that it is so, do you confirm me?
