Nike Vapor X

Barricade Boost. Don't go down in size as TW suggests, see if you can live with longer shoe. Narrow through mid foot but at least it's got a big toe box. Great cushioning, great grip, holds your heel secure, and looks awesome.

I don't know yet.. I think I will buy new model in the next two years.. My vapor can last at least two years since I have 15 pairs ( two pairs unused ) in rotation.. Mostly play double ... Fastest runner in several clubs , but not a frequent toe dragger.

While the vapor tour is still available on the market, I manage to grab the white-binary blue colorway and prolly dark atomic teal as those Nike shoes must be bought from Europe and I wait patiently for the right price to have it imported free customs tax..

The most problem for Vapor Tour is the glue quality on the outsole and lateral plastic frame... however I noticed the Vapor Tour began with coastal blue colorway ( about Sept 2016 ) and onwards till now have much better glue quality..

Once you got the best glue formula to fix the outsole separation ... This problem solved for me...

If you don't like the X, Nike is releasing a take-down model (will probably have more colors soon) and it has the 9.5 structure and outsole. The toe is a little more "X" but that's okay. This is the Vapor Legacy

Any idea when it officially launches?

Thanks for sharing! I'd be in for these, and still might be, but wish the sole was 100% white.

The question is if these will be inferior in terms of quality, or if they are actually at par with the 9.5s...
Indeed. The only thing I can see being wrong with them is maybe a cheaper glue or something. All the materials look to be of decent quality. But at 85 GBP (compared to 120 GBP for the X/9.5) I would assume they had to cut a corner somewhere. If it can be 90% as good as the 9.5 and sell for under 100 brand new I wont complain. You want top quality go for the pricier shoes I guess.

I don’t understand why you are saying “take down” version....
It looks like vapor 9/9.5 variation so it should be vapor 9.x.
Materials are similar to 9/9.5 plus mixture of X materials.
I am not sure this vapor should call “take down” version.
“Take down” version usually use cheaper materials and less protection but This vapor Looks promising from pics.
Nishkori played with this new vapor and never saw any pros play with cheaper version shoes before so it should not be take down version.
Honestly it’s good move from Nike. Vapor 9/9.5 is GOAT.

Maybe the vapor legacy is nike’s response to the usual tearing of the meshin the latetal area of the shoe

Take down version would be the Vapor Advantage which I actually only like the fit. It feels like the ZV9s.

I was watching pics and it might be take down version of vapor X.
Midsole is thinner and not sure it’s same material like vapor X.
Also there is no fitframe and not sure about side movement protection???
Nishkori’s vapor was customized for him and it won’t be vapor legacy.
Genie was wearing vapor 9.5 and socks was wearing cage...
Vapor X might not be welcomed by pros...

Tiafoe also made the switch to the Air Zoom Zero. I'm the odd duck that prefers the X, but it's all about how it fits on your foot I suppose.

Yeah it will be 85 GBP. Wayyyy less than the 120 GBP X's... so that says to me that it is a takedown

IIRc Catalogue called it “vapor prestige” and description says it is model “to take the place of the vapor advantage model.”

Made me think “dang” cause I was hoping it wasn’t a take down but rather performance level shoe like Vapor 9/9.5.

But I must say that, from the looks of it, it does appear to be a “nicer” takedown than the advantage was.

Proof is in the pudding, of course. Don’t really know quality of tech & materials (I believe it said zoom unit in heel) but for a pp of a hundo that could be worth at least a one time trial shot for fans of the 9/9.5.

I still have pairs of 9.5s that will last me until the summer hopefully. After that, I'm looking at Diadora. Don't know anything about them but the design is appealing to me.

Edit: I didn't scroll down far enough to see the Vapor Legacy or whatever it will be called. But that could potentially be my replacement shoe should the fit in the forefoot is the same as the 9.5 versions.

Can't really see any lateral support on them!

Bruh, he is wearing a custom X

I am not sure NIKE will ever put in the REACT cushioning in the Vapors,,,,they may not because it will take away that Low to the ground feel that Vapors are known for. React cushioning is fairly thick and the shoe will sit higher off the ground like Old Ballistecs with Nike Air cushion system.

What is a “take down model”? Thank you, BHBH

Also using less expensive materials so usually slightly stiffer and hard feelings.
or softer... but with less support. It's the ultimate result of "you get what you pay for". I wouldn't say they are "bad shoes" but there is a definite reason as to why they cost less.

They will just make the react sole thinner. Easy

Yes they could but then if they do then wouldn't that defeating the purpose of the REACT cushioning ? doesn't it have to be relatively thick in order to provide the superior cushioning ?

Put 4 hrs singles on the X yesterday.

I was impressed.

Not plush comfort of Vapor 9, 9.5...

But very solid performance shoe.

Didn’t have the low to the ground feeling as the shoe is raised a bit due to beefier sole (which seems to be a stronger/stiffer rubber), but definitely felt like a well built performance shoe.

Less laying on the couch comfort of V9 and more Time to go to work at the office! :)

Looking forward to putting more miles on it and seeing how it holds up.

Vapor 9.5 - Medium (great compromise for slightly wide feet, but gone..)
Vapor X - Narrow
Cage 3 - Narrow
Ultra React - Medium at most

Everyone with slightly wide feet have to resort to other brands.. Nike wtf are you doing?!

And give us at least some solid black Vapor X's in a wide fit with normal and clay soles!
