my air breathe cages' heel cracked. its that part in the middle of the shoe, and i think the glue came off.

did anyone else ever have this problem, and can i send it back for warranty?

Well according to the warranty card, it is only if the outsole wears out.
You should contact a rep of Nike to sort this out.

I'd contact them and ask about it.

I just returned my BF2s on the outsole (I'd worn them to the midsole) and they sent me a voucher. Both of the shoes had outsoles that had cracked in the middle of the outsole where you can see the clear air unit.

From my single experience, I've found them quite reasonable.

Yes, I think that you should contact the representitive. That way, you will have the correct information, and will avoid as much frustration as possible. :)

max air shoes (visible pumped up airbag) are the most vulnerable of all nike shoes because of the exposed heel cushion. One thing to note is that nike has never really worked out all the kinks of a max air midsole. You take the personal risk when purchasing these. This is why nike provides the outsole guarantee's: more the actually sell the shoe then as an incentive for durability. It is for this reason that nike's vapor 5 does not feature the outsole guarantee, its not as vulnerable.

Just contact nike about these - majority of the time they dont mind replacing them because the price you paid for the first pair is about 3 times the cost of production.

I have had that a couple of times on the Breathe Free II's. The plastic on the side of the heel cushion just broke, and after that the cushioning did not work any longer.

I returned the shoes to the local rep, and got new ones. They just asked whether I had stored them on a floor with floor-heating, but that was not the case. Probably they may dry up if stored on a heated surface, which migh explain the cracking.

So try to get a change, should work out.

It is interesting that they asked you if you stored them on a heated floor. Tennis courts in the sun acted like highly heated floors, though I guess your feet are in the shoes during that time which may remove some of the stresses.

Also there tends to be some humidity (sweat:oops:) within the shoes when playing, and also the duration on/against the court is much shorter than if you leave the shoes on a heated floor for several days. The time effect probably makes the materials in the shoe dry up and get weaker.

From my experience Nike is very good on the exchange/replacement of defective shoes. An earlier posted said you paid 3 times the cost of production, it is probably more like 300 times :)

I had a similar problem with my last pair of BFIIs, in which the bridge area under the shoe broke. If i remember correctly, the nike rep told me that all nike shoes are covered under a 1 year manufacturer's warranty (this is different from the 6 month warranty). So, if your shoe broke due to a manufacturing problem, then they will either send you a voucher or replace them. In my case, they sent me a voucher. Hope this helps.

they gave me a 50 procent discount on my next order for this.
