Nike Winter 2014 *predictions*

Boom, new kit just arrived.

Federer Red Polo
Grey Shorts
Red Vapors.

Pics will follow imminently (just uploading).

Initial thoughts - The Vapors don't match the shirt as much as they should. The Hyper Punch Nike logo feel like it was left over after the Fall season! The red on the shirt is also quite brighter than the red on the Vapors.

When I first got them out, they were duller and pinker than the images show, but they grew on me.

Love the rest of the kit - 3rd shirt with the new cotton blend and whilst it's not quite as "techy" as the usual dry fit fabrics, the performance (in my opinion), is much better (much much more breathable).

Great pictures, loving the stuff. These pictures are swaying me to the vapors- like you, initially unsure on the hyper punch
 
I think the shirt and shorts are a match made in heaven.

Amazing colour in the flesh, super feel and really go well together.

I can't help but feel the Vapors should have been the same colour as the shirt, but I'll let you know how I feel after playing a match tonight!
 
Guys, do you know if Nike has a booth at the WTF in London and if they sell exclusive winter stuff (like the current RF bandana and wristbands) there?

I'd be amazed if they did as they had absolutely no presence at Wimbledon.

But I've never been so have no idea mate.
 
Federer polo seems a bit 'different from that in trade: white symbol RF and final part of the sleeves is not matching color of the collar.
 
Tried the polo today.
I usualy don't really like the piqué polos, but I admit this one is very soft, light, and very comfy to wear !!!!!

Funny thing is that the sleeves are a slightly different color than the body : body is "challenge red" (orangish) while sleeves are "university red" (pinkish). Both color are close so it's very subtil to notice !

I well noticed on the description of the polo on TW and TWE that they wrote "challenge red" and "university red" but I wasn't able to see where the university red was used. Good to know that it is for the sleeves.

I am a bit lost with all these shades of red for the Winter 2014. What red is used on Fed's wristbands? University red, challenge red, gym red? Same for Dimitrov's ones?

I think Dimitrov is Gym red, and Fed's wristband is Challenge OR Univ, in my opinion.

So, since the bandana and wristband of Roger will obviously not be available (correct me if I am wrong), does anyone who has the clothing know any matching wristbands and bandanas which are available? Is black for example going with the red and grey?
 
I honestly disliked the grey in this outfit. This should be a red/red outfit, with the darker red taking the place where the gray is.

And I really dislike that Nike doesn't release all parts of one outfit in all regions. :twisted:

I have the short (the Gladiator 10" version, with red swoosh).
It's close to "Anthracite", but a bit more brownish and lighter.
If you have an "Anthracite" wristband (sold at the USO11 Nike booth) it will perfectly fit.

Or... the "University red" wristband sold at the USO12 Nike booth, it will also fit, because the sleeves of the polo are "university red" !

Or...... a "Gym red" wristband (available in retail last winter) would fit if you have the "Gym red" Vapors too.

Why is this the case? I really want one of those grey/maroon wristbands.

Thank you very much for your thorough analysis. :) The only thing I could find on (european) sites so far was a university red bandana - may be I'll find some more stuff or I'll have to hope that Nike has a booth at the O2.

Otherwise, I'll have to stick to white.

Federer's bandana is not the medium ash that is avaiable in TW?
 
So is Federer only wearing this red shirt for the rest of the year?

Normally Fed wears a colour for Asia-Basel-Paris and then same shirt in a different colour for London.

If not, what colour is he in for WTF?
 
Maybe Nike is hiding something special for the WTF as they did last year with the Savile Row Vapor9. Maybe that's a full new outfit coming up this time !

I could do without it this time, I've been buying too many shoes lately!
 
Do you think they will come up with a RF polo to match the dust cactus shoe colour way?

Am I the only one is also very disappointed that they did no RF hat with the hyper punch colour way? Will they do any more hats this year with exciting new colour ways such as burnt orange and cactus?

Why does the Nadal line get new hat colour ways yet the Fed line is just doing boring repeats?

Hey NickH! Do you have the black Rf polo as well? Was wondering if the fit of the black and red polos are exactly the same. Tried on the black yesterday and found that I have to go a size up. I normally wear a medium for rf polos. Want to get the red more than the black see..
 
For now there is no RF outfit planned to be worn with these shoes. For the WTF, Federer is meant to wear the red outfit (with red shoes) he's wearing since Shanghai.
I assume these one are just a bonus release, for other ATP players to wear.

Of course something could change until the WTF, but I'm not aware of anything right now.
