Yeah. This is the same reason I don't use shoes which require me to use the runner's loop to prevent heel slippage. The downward pressure is a bit much for me.
I've always clowned on the GP Turbos because of their fit but now that I think about it, I can actually tolerate the fit, but can not handle the slippage. The last lace hole in the GP Turbos are way "too forward" which makes the opening of the shoe too long. Proportionally speaking, the the very last eyelet on the GP Turbos line up with the the second last eyelet of other shoes, which makes the opening too big which in turn, creates slippage unless you use the runner's loops which in turn, collapses the arch. I think if the last lace holes were even further back, I would use the Turbos as well.
