G.O.A.T.
Looks like it's time for the NikeCourt Zoom GP Challenge 1 tennis shoe to have it's own thread.
I might be convinced, I like the sort of "pieced together" look that this colorway accentuates. It's choppy design, but not bad.
clay court sole version?
Looks like a hard court herringbone pattern to me. I would expect the grooves to be wider, but I bet these would work ok on clay.clay court sole version?
oh good call you’re right didnt think to look at foes. yea i guess they are going herringbone for the sole. nowadays you see so many viariations on hardcourt soles, this would be cool though. if they arent heavy bulky like the gp turbos nike may win me backLooks like a hard court herringbone pattern to me. The outsole in these photos looks the same as the ones Tiafoe is holding while walking out to play on HC too.
The lines and angles make the design appear different, but it has enough in common with the GP Turbo to be promising. Namely:From the look of these I feel they are such a departure from the turbos.
Also the retail tongues are much shorter than Foe’s version. Yet he still got a gap on the medial side in all those pics.
Outsole looks like they are for clay. Also the challenges have top loaded shanks. Very different than the turbos’ shank which is underneath the zoom bag.
This design has a lot of rigid straight lines.
I look forward to foot doctor’s review on these. Even though I still have spare turbos in the storage.
The shank on these are visible from both sides under the arch of the foot. The lines and angles make the design appear different, but it has enough in common with the GP Turbo to be promising. Namely:
Where did you find info about the shank? I agree that would likely change the step in comfort and court feel.
- Full-length zoom air
- Traditional u-throat tongue
- Wide-ish and Flat silhouette through the midfoot
- Integrated lace eyelets (it looks like from the photos)
- Similar lateral flange and heel rocker shapes
- Similar toe drag guard design and construction

I agree this looks like a shank, but it could be a comfort layer on the foam or just a design element. Here's the best view of it that I've found. The shank on these are visible from both sides under the arch of the foot.
In the case of the turbos, they are visible through the window underneath the forefoot.
That lateral support piece is giving me strong Vapor S2 vibes.

I like the bigger tongue. Can't Nike just give that to us instead?
I’m a sucker for black uppers and a white midsole. Toss in an icy blue translucent outsole, and you’ve got a winner.I take it the "GP Challenge Pro" must be the takedown version:
Why do these have a gecko inside the shoe?
Maybe the theme for AO is regarding animals? And also this match perfectly with the shirt leaked for springWhy do these have a gecko inside the shoe?
If they have the same cushioning setup, I would probably prefer the Pro …Do the challenge pros have zoom in then ?
Gp Turbo being narrow is news to me. Widest of Nike
No official word yet. But I'm guessing it's going to be late Dec or early Jan when we can buy these. Then AO colors will come out later in Jan.I have two more pairs left of the originals and been debating on buying another pair or not. Do we have a release date on these? Some interesting colorways for sure. Hopefully they perform like the originals.
I’m guessing the midsole tooling will be exactly the same as the GP Turbo. It’s not only top-loaded Zoom Air. It’s a Zoom unit in lieu of the conventional strobel board, so there’s nothing between your foot and the Zoom air. Lovely stuff. I agree 100% the decal can’t be a mid foot shank because it’s positioned too high. Having a top-loaded shank will also cause the Zoom unit to pop. If there is a shank, it’ll no doubt be bottom-loaded. By the way, does anyone know what GP stands for?One other observation from all the pics... That line you see between the outside and the shoe's upper is a decal signifying the top-loaded Zoom Air unit. (Means that you'll feel more of the bounce compared to if there were outsole foam between your foot and the Zoom Air Unit). Saw some side closeup shots where you can read the "Zoom Air" - would be right around your arch area. I don't think it's a mid foot shank plate as previously suggested. But, hey, I'm an internet detective! I eagerly await the Foot Doctor's teardown as well.
