NikeCourt Zoom GP Challenge 1

54” are usually a safe bet. Not too long and not too short
it comes in 55 inches, 63 inches and 71 inches. this shoes has 5 eyelets on each side. so does that equate to 55 inches or 63 inches ? i know its not 71 inches... lol

Just purchased two pairs of the Ones during the sales… looking forward to trying them. Went up half a size too.
Hope it’d live up to the Turbo GP, as I am down to my last pair.

On the side note, been wearing my new 2017 Barricade Boost for the past 3 weeks. I have used a couple before the pandemic but they are just not as bouncy as the Turbo GPs. lol.

Have a pair of NikeCourt Zoom NXT, I think it will take them out and break in. Will see how it plays.

Will be interested in hearing your take on the GPC1s and the NXTs. I have both, but neither are comparable to the GP turbo.

I'm currently using the GPC1s w knock off air zoom insoles (double air units in ball and heel), which approximate the cushion of the turbos.

The Zoom NXT will ruin you for other shoes. They're awesome

so taken out the NXT out of the box and tried them on around the house.

first impression is that it is quite comfortable, but not the Turbo GP level. i can feel the air zoom cushion at the front and it felt abit "lower" on the rear of the NXT. this is the women's edition in (w)US11.5/(m)US10, and i can feel abit more room in the toe area than the Turbo GP of the same size. Going down half a size would be a good idea.

had it on for about an hour or so, in the end i didnt like the lowere rear end feel (no probs with the front)... so put on my trusty Plemo shoe insoles - they fitted quite well, surprisingly (didnt fit the Turbo GP, but it didnt need these insoles anyway).

the Plemo made a huge difference for the feel and cushioning of the NXT. it felt more elevated, especially the rear. i have had the insoles on for a few hours now around the house and the backyard - it felt very close to the Turbo GP level of height, comfort and cushioning around the house and doing various things/chores etc. suppose i will have to try on the court when i am out next to check on the actual cushioning/movement etc. I am hoping it'd somewhat similar (enough). the front doesnt feel as roomy with the insoles, which is a + also. so if i find more pairs, i'd stick with the US10 mens size.

will pack the Barricade Boost away for now and use the NXT as the "stop-gap" - the Challenge 1s should get here in a couple of weeks time. will try one of them one back to back.

had a quick look around for the NXTs online and they arent that many around it seems, especially in the popular 9.5/10 sizes, so if the Ones are decent enough as the Turbo GP replacement, i will have to stock them up. i was regretting i didnt do that with the NO Turbo GP editions in 2022, before i left the UK (only bought two pairs, plus one pair already in use, now i am down to the last pair)

fun n games..... not.. lol

PS - when i geta abit cooler, i will have a quick session with the Topspin Pro in the backyard and see how the NXT/Plemo fares.....

can you pls let me know where to get these? i am also down to my past pair of Plemo shoe insoles (again, should have stocked them up before i left the UK... lol), and they are out of stock... so maybe i can give this a try too. thanks.

From the bay, but I bought some from Ali Express, too

ive been running around on this shoes for last 2 days and it has horrible cushioning compared to the GT turbo. i am so disappointed,, no wonder its got horrible reviews....

GPC1 is no match with GP Turbo, in almost basically every aspect (except sprint forward speed). I hope people know this before buying GPC1s.
I found out the hard way... do you think vapor Cage, rafa shoes has better cushioning and comfort ? not sure if i can return this for that one ?

Sorry can't say... Cage 4 felt such an ankle breaker when I tried them at the store I took them off real quick.
no worries. i am just going to buy the nike Invincible 3 running shoes for jogging . i don't like having different shoes for everything but GPC1 is just impossible to go jogging in for any extended time, cushioning is just horrible. i think next time i am just going to buy Diadora Torneo 2 for both purposes.

first of the two pairs arrived today, all the way from Belgium... (WFT... does Nike not have any tennis shoes in stock in OZ?!? it went from Belgium to Netherlands to Australia., over 9 days, with NY and two weekends in between, not too bad actually....lol))

anyway, the fit is generous for US10.5(m) - i wnet up half size as advised, and there are much more room in the toe box than the GP Turbo. there is abit more room in the ankle area with my right ankle brace, so no complaint here. not a big fan of the lacing/eyelet system though, especially the last one at the top - the lace comes out of the top eyelets too easily when tightening it. maybe it is just me. lol

out of the box, the cushioning isnt the same/as great as the GP Turbo, which I was expecting. the front feels good, but the rear felt abit "flat". maybe i am spoiled by the GP Turbo rear cushioning. have it on for a couple of hours now "breaking-in" at home. walking around and doing stuff at home feels good enough.

I have just put on a pair of my trusty Plemo shoe insole, and it is night and day feel. the read feels much better, cushioned & "elevated", getting v close to the GP Turbo feel. will keep the insoles in for now and see how it goes.

Really hoping the Challenge 1 will be a decent replacement of the GP Turbo for me - need to take out to the court for a real test drive. if so, i will have to stock up whenever they go on sale. lessons learnt. lol

My first pair just arrived and feel great walking around the house. Can't wait to play some tennis in them tomorrow!!

Update: first night playing in them for about two hours of doubles and singles action. Verdict: they're not a super light speed shoe, but they're quick enough. They're comfy and supportive with good lateral quickness. I'm honestly right between an 11 and an 11.5 in Nike, so I did not have a single issue with toe-jamming wearing 11.5s like FDZ warned about. I'm really happy with them right now, we'll see if that continues in the next few weeks!
