So what does the 9.5 offer that makes it so much greater than the current model? A bit of comfort? Looks like a very different shoe...
Nostalgia.

Also, the forefoot/mid-foot fit was more accommodating to many foot types. It was a generally-loved blend of lightweight and performance. The biggest knock was usually the durability.

Agree with this, and I'd say the durability wasn't too bad either. But to paraphrase, they made a very well rounded tennis shoe with the hallmarks of a running shoe. Great fit, and no break in. Although low to the ground, good cushioning. And although lightweight, really decent stability as well. I haven't tried anything since, but from what I've heard, the latest versions went the way of gimmicky. The 9.5 were a worker shoe; you put them on and went to work. I'm sure they'd probably still pass the pepsi challenge against the latest.

If someone had the information to pass the price and when it will be available and if it is possible to arrange an advance sale with someone
My guess is at least $120, same as the current Vapor. Would assume it could go as high as $150 since they market it as limited edition or limited release. Feel like it'd also be more expensive so they don't cannibalize the sales of the current Vapors.

I would like to give nike shoes a new chance, but both Nike's Vapor Pro HC and Air Zoom GP Turbo bites below my external ankles at both sides. I have to place some 3M Nexcare tape at these places to avoid hurting it.

It's no use testing it all in stores, I'll need to play some good court hours to be sure this problem won't happen in the new versions.

A little bit of the Cage 2 as well imo.
I miss those shoes so much. Got a pair on fleabay and blew them out in two hitting session. Literally the soles ripped from the upper. Sadness - if anyone has breathe cage 2 in size 9 please let me know lol

Wonder if it's the same guy I bought from--two pairs failed the exact same way.

Was the seller in TX by any chance?

Wow. Yup seller from TX. Damn shame we both got the wool pulled over our eyes. I still have the pair and planned on sending them to a cobbler I found on instagram

Please don't do that.... I really miss those shoes
Had a pair deadstock sitting in my closet, took them out a couple months back since I was looking for new shoes and hadn't made a firm decision yet. The outside left ripped within two sessions... Minus that, they still look brand new. Going to glue it back on for sentimentality but pretty hilarious that the outer will come apart like that.

Don't do that. Let him know.

I told him what happened and he sent me another pair of newer shoes (Cage 3).

One of my Cage 2s is fine for running and gym, just don't want to push it on the court bc the sole started to come unglued in one spot.

But the other pair failed completely. He replaced those and was very glad to not get negative feedback.

My fleabay name is yellowitr and the transaction was in 2020 sometime. Feel free to use me

It was back in 2020 so I don’t think I can even track down the transaction but honestly don’t think I would return them. Would rather repair on my own. I think I asked him for a partial refund that was accepted

anywho - if you guys know any shoeglue that’s reputable let me know

We've all tried glue to save our shoes. I personally tried permanent-grade gorilla glue. It's only a temporary fix or sole would just detach elsewhere. It'll just keep getting worse.

I've had ok results with Barge SuperStik and a heat gun, there are sneakerdudes on YouTube that give decent tutorials. I've kept a few really old pairs of LB 1.5s alive using this stuff.

I have a brand new pair of the RG colorway with tags still on but half size too small for me. But as soon as I see the padding around the heel and how comfy they were I really hope they make some sort of comeback or inspiration

But when are they coming out??? I just got a pass to go to the Nike Company Store this holiday season. Doubt they’ll have these there by end of year anyway.

Black varients are available on the Australia Nike Page.

Vapor Pro 2 retailing for $180 and the Vapor 11 for $230.

I actually assumed (tho didn't read much online) that the pro would've been more given the name, but I guess not!

I'm very skeptical of Nike tennis shoes at this point. I use the clay version of the Vapor Pros and they're "okay." It's impossible to get the same level of lockdown as with the Vapor 9.5s. I end up having to tighten the laces multiple times every time I play. One reason I got them was because there was a dearth of clay court models available when I was shopping. Incidentally, I also gave the hard court version a try but the plastic on it made a "popping" sound because of how the shoe flexed (it may have been a defect in that pair). Regardless, I realized there was no way I'd want my foot sliding in them on hard courts, so I immediately went back to the Vapor 9.5s and Zoom Zeros. Consequently, I'm not excited about the Vapor Pro 2s based on my experience with the first iteration. The materials still look hard and like they won't flex well. It also doesn't look very elegant, in my view either, but each to their own.

The Vapor 11 seems like it has little to do with the 9.5s and 10s. It gives the appearance of being a clunkier and bulkier shoe, though maybe that's not true.

Nike also has struggled in the running area, being outpaced by competitors. They have a great shoe in the Vaporfly Next 2, which apparently is being replaced, but in terms of daily trainers, they continually come up short. If you read "professional" reviews of the Pegasus 39, it's often said to be a good shoe in comparison to other recent Pegasus models, but mediocre compared with other brands. Similar to the Vapor 9.5, reviewers and runners lament the discontinuation of older, better models like the Pegasus Turbo 2. Their trail running sneakers are criticized for their poor traction.

None of this is to say that Nike doesn't sell well because of the designs, endorsements, etc., but clearly there's something amiss when their sponsored pros use the 9.5s, 10s and Zoom Zeros.

That's true, all of Vapor Pros, Cage 4 and NXT Zoom are a huge disappointment. I moved to Court FF2/GR8 and they are better in every way than Nike. Only current Nikes I love are GP Turbos but TBH I still prefer wearing them to anything other than tennis (gym, volleyball etc). But at least they are great shoes.

guess i will have to see these in person, my first impression is that they seem a bit too colorful for me. i guess i am just old school. i do like the sole and perhaps the tongue has been improved over the vapor pro, i thought i hated the vapor pro until i put a tongue pad in them.

Vapor 11s and Vapor Pro 2s arrived today, tried both of them while playing doubles for a couple hours.

The cushioning in the 11s is really nice and they feel more sturdy than a normal 'Vapor' line shoe, without feeling bulky. Padded tongue is great as is the more normal lacing, and fit true to size without the narrowness of recent Vapor Pros. Coming from the Cage 4s (where I went half a size down), Vapor Pros (half size up), and GP Turbos as my most recent shoes, they felt like a nice balance in between them.

The Vapor Pro 2s were a bit weird. They have a more narrow fit, but not as much as the original Vapor Pros, with a bit more cushioning than the last generation and less of an inward tilt. They didn't feel any quicker than the 11s, though, and the upper felt a bit cheaper / needing to break in more. They felt like a cheaper version of the 11s, overall.

I may have just been biased by the price points etc but, if anything, I was expecting the Pros to be more up my alley. The black 11s look great and I'm likely to keep them and phase my Cage 4s out.

I didn't find the Vapor Pros to be narrow at all. In fact, I thought they were too wide compared with the 9.5s and 10s. Are you a D width foot?

Thanks for the early insight! Is the upper of the 11 more meshy than the upper of the Pro 2?

And if i was a size 10 in the cage 4, i need to go 10.5 in the vapor 11? is that right? Thank you
