NikeCourt Zoom Vapor 11 (2023)

I have limited experience with the Vapor Pro (1). I tried them out when they first debuted and didn't really care for the minimalist profile, especially the lack of cushioning compared to other shoes I'd worn. The Vapor 11 is a major step up from the VP1 in terms of cushioning overall, but I still crave a little more heel cushioning. I also would have liked a heel lock.
Yes, the Vapor pro 1 is a great shoe but the minimal cushioning was catching up to my feet and heel. I loved the low to ground feel and weightless feel of the VP1. The Vapor 11 gives you all the same features just with more cushion and what I would think, more durability. Awesome new shoe for the new year for Nike IMO.

The 11 is heavier than the VP1 though. Surely it's not a case of the 11 simply being an "upgrade"; it's a distinctly different shoe.

Which pros are actually using this shoe, at least from appearances? When I turned on the Australian Open last night I saw Sinner wearing the Zoom Zeros and Fucsovics wearing the Vapor Pro 1s. It looks like Rublev switched away from the 11s.

If Nike wants to give me a pair to review, I'd be happy to try them, but I personally wouldn't buy these at full retail. I just don't understand what this shoe is supposed to be...it's not a successor to the 9.5 or 10s or pros.

Like I said before, the trend among the Nike pros seems to be the Vapor Pro 2 instead of the Vapor 11.

Korda still using one VP1 and Rune went back to the VP1 from the VP2. Think pros in general are sticking with Nike older offerings.

@pete101 never used the X. The V11 are similar to the VP1 in length. I can try to get a pic later

"What the shoe is supposed to be ?" Who cares. You try the shoe and if it works for you great, if it doesn't, send it back. When I look to buy a shoe or try one, I don't look at anything else other than it being good for your time on the court. No need to try and understand the shoes family tree.

They're apparently not meant as a replacement for the 10s despite the name. They're a replacement for the React Vapor NXTs according to TW per their video. The Vapor Pro 2 is the continuation of the Vapor9/X/Vapor Pro, etc. line. It makes no sense.
Basically even if i get the wide version it'll be too long lol cry face.

Have to go find some new shoes now unless can find a vapor x wide second hand haha

VP 1 were too long for me i tried on the wide versions i just dont think can play with them if there is like 1.5 inches of length at the top from where my toe is. 1 inch is ideal.

It is the same issues i have with air max 90s and 1s vs 97. The 90s and 1s are shorter and wider the 97s longer and narrow. Same with x vs vapor pro's

It is more the length is the issue. The 9's 9.5's 's had cult following so there was hope the 11s would follow suit.

Unfortunately these arent suitable for me as they are too long even in a wide version (vapro pro's i mean)

Cage 4 or zoom NXT, which one should i get ? which one has better cushioning ?
Cage 4 has better cushioning plus that sole is super durable will take you ages to wear that down.

Seems the vapor react nxt and cages have the super durable outsole that lasts forever (relatively)

Maybe a long forgotten ‘That’s What She Said’ to keep you amused while you wait for the answer to an apparently straight forward question...

If someone can measure a US 10.5 Vapor 11 accurately I can measure my US 10.5 Vapor X knits, if that helps? (I no longer have any non-knit Vapor Xs to measure.)

How do you mean accurately? I can give it a shot... I had my first play with the Vapor 11's, 10.5M. I am coming from a series of 9.5 Vapor Tours. They fit a bit longer, but enough to size down to a 10. At first they felt hot and not breathable, but it didn't bother me at all while playing. Definitely higher off the ground, but a very stable shoe. Noticibaly heavier than 9.5, but didn't bother me while playing. I ordered the VP2 to see if it is a lower to ground feeling shoe, happy with these but seeing if something is closer to the 9.5 (I want the re-issue 9.5 and AJx9.5!).

Y’all just buy and return it if it doesn’t work out for you! Maybe they’ll get the message when there’s a ton of returns lol

Just put a ruler underneath and look from the top and side on; there might ultimately have to be an allowance made for any model to model variance in how far the heel juts out beyond the part that actually accomodates the foot.

You can just order one from Nike to try it out, if it doesn't work for you, send it back, no cost to you.
I received mine yesterday, going to try them on the court tonight.

True. I've done this with running sneakers from Nike. My 9.5s and Zoom Zeros are still going strong through. I feel the best with the 9.5s.

I actually decided to pick up a pair of the Gel Resolution 7s, which I got for 85 dollars. Incidentally, I purchased Vapor 9.5s in 2014 for $67 and in 2018 for $91. I think I had 1 pair of the 9s and 6 pairs of the 9.5s, including a clay version. Hopefully I'll like the Asics.

Long time Lunar Ballistic 1.5 wearing, just finished my last pair. Did a big shoe order to try some new models: FF3, Res9, V11. I've been wearing a 9 in Nikes and the LBs, but ordered 9.5 in the FF3 and Res9, but they were a bit roomy but liked the feel of both of them; they both felt really stable and cushiony, would try the Res9 first; returned both for now without getting them on the court. Got the V11 in 9.5 and 9; kept the 9, Nike sizing is all over the place today but these seems to run slightly large.

Used them for a match on Sunday, with no previous on court time with them, just some walking the days before to loosen them up.

Impressions:
- liked them, never thought about them during the match which is perfect for a first time wear
- lateral stability was great as well as forward/angled stopping (the GPT gave me problems here)
- did not feel bulky or clunky but I'm coming from LBs and VC4
- loved the heel being more squared off and not rounded like the ZC3 as it gives you a bit more feedback on your planting as you can feel the edge, reminded me of the Oscillate in that regard.
- the tongue design felt like it might be a problem of the laces digging through and into the foot, but I did not encounter this; but agree adding a regular tongue would just be better overall.
- cushioning felt good, responsive, but less plush than the Res9, less plush than the GPT.

Think I'm going to try them for the 30-day Nike window of returns, not sure after that, might try the Res9 right after to see if I feel attached to the V11.

Positive direction for Nike though, I was pretty down on the last few years of shoes.

Tried V11 and Res9, returned V11. It doesn't fit me well, maybe it's personal. I use orthotics and ankle braces, v11 felt a little detached and I have the heel lockdown issue with a lot of Nike shoes. On the other hand, Res9 is more nimble and cushioned. YMMV.

In the past I really wanted to like the Gel Resolutions. I had a pair of GR5s and the only reason I sold them was because my feet didn't seat as far down into the shoe as I'd like. I eventually moved to the Solution Speed FF models. The new GR9s have me considering a pair just based on the upper alone. I'm really liking the new design.

I ordered Vapor 11's in 11.5 coming from Vapor Pros in 11.5. The Vapor 11's ran noticeably bigger than the Pros and all my prior vapor shoes. For someone with a narrow foot I would definitely go half a size down.

Not a fan of the silhouettes of the new Vapors but the colourways are fantastic.

Do we dare to dream about an air max tribute colourway being a possibility for the 9.5 reissues?

And the Mac Attacks didn’t come out until 1985. In 1984 McEnroe was still wearing the Challenge Court.

I'm playing the 11s as well. Still can't get a heel lock down like I want but they're an improvement on the Vapor React NXTs that they're tagged as replacing. To be fair, I haven't been able to lock down the heel in the any of the other Nike shoes in my fleet -- Vapor React NXT, Zoom Court NXT, Vapor Cage 4.

Returning my pair of 11s.. the tongue is a disappointment coming from the VP1, the laces won't hold a double knot and the toe is almost wearing through from toe dragging after about 5 weeks. No way these will last the 3-4 months I'm used to out of VP1.

I came here to post that exact thing. Was loving the 11’s but there’s zero protection in the toe area. I’ve played barely two weeks and there’s almost a hole in the fabric. Never had that issue before with another shoe. They need to add a bit of rubber higher up or extend the rubber lines to go around to the toe box.

If you toe drag or play on hardcourt at all you should not buy the 11’s. They simply won’t last you more than a month.
