Idk if it’s just me but the collar where the ankle sits is higher on the prototype. It looks more thicker/padded similar to the Vapor 9/9.5 compared to how it looks on Korda/Rune, it’s more slim like the Vapor 10/Pro 1. Could be the angle of the photo or the size difference in feet. Overall you have to put in consideration that the playtesters who did had the chance to test them also made their feedback on what they did like or didn’t

It's the angle IMO

Im just waiting for @gino to tell me why it is not good enough and decry the death of Nike Court even though no one has seen it in real life or had it on their foot

The swoosh is thicker, the last thing the VAPOR needs is more weight

Lol stop it I can't take anymore

On a serious note where is that guy who just randomly hinted there could be a hidden midsole change to the VP3, like a shank, but says he is a 14yo junior player?

lol it’s almost like you can’t read (or choose not to, selective comprehension). I’ve had effusive praise about this design from the onset. Spoke directly with a d1 player from SMU who got to use the Protos. They have adaptive lacing, a last similar to the vapor pro 1, and a new cushion layup id tell you about it you didn’t insist on being a quippy little priick. As I’ve mentioned for over a month these have a lot of promise. Much more then the face lifted vapor pro 3 you seem quite defensive about for no logical reason

Maybe you should have brushed up on my position instead of tagging me with some shade. The internet definitely needs more confrontational pricks like yourself

I commented as well on his hint of a change... 30 days out from release... when the general releases have probably already hit production and design locked over the summer or earlier. Thats not really how it works, especially with the V3 being just a retool of the V2.

You guys must be air zoom revive fans. Terribly designed bottom heavy shoes for 3.5-4.0 players seem to be the magic pill. Enjoy !

Don't remember those lol. I had some Breathe Cage 2 and hated them. Went to Zoom Cage 2 and loved those, then went on an odyssey that didn't stop until I found the Cage 4 and GP

the most unserious thing ever done in the tennis footwear space was the zoom revive. removable insoles in a shoe with a non-durable mesh/patent leather upper

pure comedy. i love nike, but we must admit they are not perfect. balls and strikes

There were two (or more?) different versions of the Cage 2? Were the lasts (fit) used to make them the same at least?

Cage 4s were/ARE good! I think people just want novelty.

Breathe Cage and Zoom Cage are different. Breathe Cage was like 2008/9, Zoom Cage 2 was like 2015

I may not be using the exact right names

Does it mean I'm a tennis shoe degenerate if I look at these and think, "I kinda still want to try this setup"?

I completely forgot about these. I remember they felt like bricks on foot. I tried a pair during my college years and went straight back to the Breathe Free II.

I will say that I think the Zoom NXT was a big missed opportunity. Those eyelets are crap. But the shoe itself feels very Vaporish. And I think you can see some of its influence in the V12 toe shape. I played in mine today and they were awesome. With the lightweight feel and the weird gap in the sole, this shoe should have been called a Vapor. The Vapor React NXT wasn't it.

100% agree with you. Still, I admire the fact that nike went ahead and put this on the market. It shows me that the brand is not afraid of failing. That's amazing to me.

If Nike can bring elements of the old Vapor back into a new model, I would wager a Cage or Court Ballistecs line. Perhaps combine the two, Nike CourtBallistec Cage 1
