NikeCourt Zoom Vapor 12

did not waste a second this time
:-D :-D

If you have a scale, can you confirm for us whether or not the V12HS is indeed lighter than the V12PRM or vs the regular V12? Looking for noticeable weight differences of somewhere over half an ounce. Minute differences are unavoidable. Thank you.

Also, comments regarding the V12HS feeling or fitting differently somehow when compared to the regular version V12 is always welcome.

I picked up two pairs today from TW. The heritage model and the slate/obsidian model. I am interested to see the color of the swoosh on the slate/obsidian model as it looks black in all of the photos, but usually obsidian to Nike is more navy than black.

No

But another retailer has two colorways of the clay court version on their site.
To be fair, it’s far more of a herringbone pattern than their recent HC outsoles

But yeah they’ll release it in multiple CC colours this year when it gets to clay season on the pro tour. Looks like the same Claybreaker outsole as the last gen.

Can confirm the herringbone in this vapor is shallow and wouldn’t work on clay. Also the shank is way too large, it would be like 40% of the bottom of the shoe not connected to the ground so wouldn’t be ideal. Correct on the clay breaker style one, I think TPglobal has that up now

As already mentioned in the threat dedicated to Hypersmah, is this shoe ( V12 Hypersmash) not planned for the European market? USA only?

How many pairs has Gino brought, anyone here brought more :-D:giggle:

I have 3 pairs of the Yellow Premium colorway here and 1 pair of the Hypersmash incoming. Now for the yellow pair I ordered 3 different sizes and 2 of them obviously will be going back. I am going to play in them tonight and a couple times this week and depending on how much I like them, that will determine if I will go after more pairs.

I'm in a similar situation as Gino. I loaded up on Vapor 9.5s in 2023 hoping they would last me until Nike came out with a suitable replacement. I still have one pair left new in the box. I tried the 11s on but my initial impressions were not good enough to wear them over the 9.5s. In hind site I should have bought even more 9.5s when they were cheap but that ship has sailed

I still have one wearable pair of GP Turbos I wear sparingly when my feet need a break. I am dreading the day that those are cooked because from all the reviews there is nothing out there close that can match those

how are these running with Regards to length? Should I order my normal VP1 V11 size? I’m ordering with every intent to return within 60 days. 180 is highway robbery lol

Snazzy FO colorway?

Nice virtual slides to put on when you take your virtual Lacoste ballet shoes off. (y)

I ditched Nike several years ago. So tired of the extreme variability between generations of shoes and at times ludicrious pricing. Have gone primarily to Wilson for good value and reliability between generations/models.

But, as others have noted it seem Nike has finally listened and put the best of this line back together. I see several have bought, but what is the take? Outside of cosmetics is the shoe worth the ride?

My kingdom for the black vapor V’s, top left.

P.S. only confirms my theory that Vapor 11’s ratio of banging colours vs actual quality is off the charts compared to any other Vapor generation since the 7/8’s

If you could only play in one pair for the rest of your tennis career which pair would it be for:
1.) Performance?
2.) Style and Flair?
Me?
Personally, I hold the comprehensive GOAT tennis shoe is the Breathe Cage II (best cw either Del Potro 2008 Masters Cup or Nadal 2009 AO).
But if I were to highlight either of the two aspects you mentioned:

1. Performance - BC2 (2nd & 3rd place some order of the Lunar Ballistec and Zoom Vapor 9)

2. Style and Flair - I have too many favorite cw’s/models, there are so many GOATed Fedal combos, but my short(/long) list includes:
  • Roger’s AO 2012, 2017 / IW+Miami 2014, 2017, 2018 / French Open 2010, 2012 / USO 2011-2014
  • Rafa’s AO 2009, 2014, 2017 / FO 2010, 2016, 2019 / USO 2010, 2011, 2017

CB2.3 USO 2010 is the shoe that got me into collecting, but my current favorite is the Black/Teal AJ3 x ZV9, so it's really tough for me to just pick one, ha

Very impressive quality control and consistency

Do you have tracking for the V12HS yet though? Many curiosities as the whole upper and lacing system is different in those.
Yes. Those are due in tomorrow

FWIW - black pair from d1cks and PRM direct from Nike. So quality control def good even between retailers and direct

I’m just annoyed these PRM colors aren’t really premium

+1 for the breathe cage 2 - although I think the vapor 9.5 flyknit is my goat shoe

Missing Shanghai 2017 for Fed imo. That lilac henley with AJ3 in tiffany blue/teal was clean asf

Wait so are these actually good or just blowing up bc the foot doc likes them? I thought these were disappointing everyone last week?
I finally played a match in mine. They felt/played almost exactly like I remember the Vapor Xs. The 12s have a little extra length at the toes and maybe a tad more heel cushion, but barely.

Verdict- if you were a fan on the Xs these are for you.

Ok so these are actually a good buy? I’m about to cop
As someone who’s worn a lot of f—king vapors, they are a return to the V10/VP1 performance. I don’t love the traction (ate it up in 2-3 hours), but otherwise I’m wholly impressed. Mainly by the comfort of the tongue, adaptive fit lacing, and medial support. They’re a little more plasticky than other vapors, but if you slide a lot it’s good durability. I’ll detail more later, but they are by far the best Nike on the market imo

I like a more substantial dole. The main Lacoste shoes are comfy af but borderline too minimal of an outsole/midsole for me. How do these compare (if youve had the chance to try the Lacoste)? I was in my hiatus when the X came out

Played for about an hour in the vapor 12s. I prefer the forefoot zoom on the 11s versus the heel zoom in the 12s. My orthotics have a heel raise on them so I tend to put more pressure forward.

Definitely lots of court feel with the 12s if that’s what you’re looking for! The upper is pretty nice too, feels more contained. The super beefed up toe guard is a huge upgrade from the 11.

call me crazy, but I actually liked the 11's performance...
I am well aware that's a minority opinion, though + I don't think I have the most sensitive feet (not complaining about it)

+1 for the breathe cage 2 - although I think the vapor 9.5 flyknit is my goat shoe
very fair - for me (or maybe just my personal pair), the upper of the 9.5 didn't seem to hold my foot as snug as the regular 9, which could be easily circumvented with thicker socks, but I digress

you're absolutely right. I mention those exact AJ3's as one of my current fav's.
just kinda scanned through the slam's heavy hitters as I was brainstorming

Not crazy, I do too. I think people were upset because they say it diverged from the vapor DNA, but I wish they would continue the vapor 11 line as a separate "durability/ comfort" minded shoe. It's frustrating that they diverged from the GP turbo and now the vapor 11. Why can't they just offer the best of each world in separate silos? I don't want an uncomfortable shoe that only lasts two weeks, so I'm afraid to pull the trigger on the new 12s.

This is exactly my concern. How is the grip of the 11? I like to slide but I slide in all shoes, the outsole of the 11s look a bit slippery
