NikeCourt Zoom Vapor 12

I got a good 3 months out of my pair before getting a hole on the lateral side right above the tpu stabilizer. The hole started off small and was playable for another match or 2 before getting the whole ripped open more and became too large. Traction was also getting worn down, in my high impact spots the traction had totally smoothed out, had started to become noticeable when trying to push off particularly going forwards and when stepping on the lines.

I was playing close to 5 times on average a week wearing that pair 90% of the time, and I put a lot of hours with a lot of force and effort on the shoes. Very good shoe and great for an all court player that moves aggressively. Swapping out the insole for a different insole gave the shoe a slight but needed boost in comfort

So compared to other court shoes, you would rate these as purdy durable then?
Standard. I've always heard that for the amount of times you play in a week, is how many shoes you will need/go through in a year. So playing 4-5 times a week maybe more, based on that logic do the math - 3 months is about what you should expect from a shoe. I'm sure there are more durable and less durable options.

How is this possible?
Genuinely asking as I can get holes in the toe or medial side near the big toe from dragging but never heard of high on the lateral side.
I'm not sure how it happened. I just noticed a small hole when putting them on before a match but the medial side isn't wrapped in any tpu or plastic, it's just fabric so not the most durable material. My guess is it's gotten hot recently and I sweat a lot and the shoes get decently water logged that might make the fabric weaker and more susceptible to tears. Also when I'm moving laterally I plant pretty hard loading up my backhand, that's a decent amount of force that goes towards the lateral side of the shoe.

Mine recently just had this happen as well. Believe it or not, on my non-dominant sliding foot. Have had them for almost 2 months.

That makes sense, I couldn't tell if you meant normal wear related or like sliding/dragging of some sort, so what you said makes sense.
I'd write to Nike, that seems extremely premature even for normal use.

Did the men's French Open Vapor 12 color get cancelled entirely? Alcaraz wearing a custom PJ instead, and VP3 and GP are out in that dark blue/red already while the Vapor 12 missing.

Alcaraz wears Vapor 12...but I don't know if that colorway will be available

Alcaraz is the only one who wears the V12 on the men's side (outside of Coleman Wong, lost 1st round qualies), and he's got a Player Exclusive version (as per @Babolast in this thread) as defending champion

I was not asking if the Alcaraz custom colorway will be released. I was asking if the retail one with the dark blue and red will come out in the states. It’s missing on every single website. The VP3 and GP in the same exact dark blue color are already out.

Dick's has them...I ordered last week and got them over the weekend!!

Had the same discomfort where you pointed out but I haven’t felt it again after playing in them for 2 sessions.
I had the same bending/clicking at the toe joint on the left shoe only. It was really bad and I could barely walk in the shoe let alone play tennis in them. The weird thing is they were fine for the first month and then the problem appeared. I tried using a hair dryer and bending them but nothing has worked, so disappointed.

Colorways keep getting better

But already waiting for the Vapor 13 to fix the TPU issue on the medial toe/flexpoint of the forefoot.
Also, deeper slits on the adaptive fit lacing ala the Vapor 9.5/X.

I think it will be a GP challenge 2, since Sinner is using them and also because they are from a couple of years ago, while vapor 12 are from this year

Awesome pictures thank you for sharing! These appear to be prototypes. Really glad they went back to a fatter padded tongue than the thin one in these pics. I hated that about the vapor pro immediately and quit using Nike after Vapor pro came out. Last pair I played in was the vapor X until I got the 12 which I love

Finally we get a clean white colorway with something other than black. Super classy and appropriate for grass season. Going to stock up on the white navy for hardcourt whenever they go on sale. Wonder if they'll give this look to Alcaraz or Sinner's custom shoes.

why do they make pe versions?
in my sampras era he had a really cool black/red oscillate, but im pretty sure you were able to buy it it was just really rare. idk, guess i dont get why they wouldn't want kids today to be able to wear, imitate, and look like their idols.

Because [nearly] everyone in this thread has bought the V12 anyway lol
That's actually a perfect example of what I'm talking about. I would wager that the V12 started selling a ton more now that Alcaraz actually wears something that is almost identical to it (regardless of exact color scheme) as opposed to the v11 which he didn't wear.

but everytime a company could do something cool, release djokovic‘s racquet etc., the company apologists say, it is a business, people wouldn‘t buy it because it is too demanding, its capitalism and all about revenue.
but in this case in which they would sell more units of a product (there is no chance they wouldn‘t), the argument should be: we are good, no need to get greedy, lol.

Same here, really a problem,
Ordered one more pair with another half-size down. Let's see.
That fixed it for me, went down one more half-size compared to my regular tennis shoe size. 1 size in total. Super snug now, heel slippage is no issue anymore. Couldn’t solve it with the bigger shoe, runner’s knot didn’t help, new insole didn’t help.

Has anyone noticed inconsistent sizing with these? I bought one in a 10.5 (normal size), and it was a little big, then I returned those and ordered 10s, and those were way too big. Now I'm all the way down to a 9.5, and I'll see how those fit once they arrive.
