NikeCourt Zoom Vapor 12

Their tennis tops are the best in the business and have been for a while.

Ppl have experienced some quality issues with the shorts, but not me.
I still buy some tops and shorts at times. Love their Henleys for tennis.
I have NIke stuff from the late 2000's that is just now showing wear, but the stuff I've bought say the late 20teens, had much shorter lifespan and felt more synthetic. Tears/shrinkage and feel weren't as great.

Interesting. I have some 2008 sleeveless stuff and it's all falling apart and smudging

The new stuff is miles ahead in look and feel

Yeah, falling apart since 2008 now, is pretty.

I feel all the syntheic fibers nike has been using feels more abrasive/stiff or in some cases clingier.
Kind of wonder if they realized there stuff from a decade or two ago was too durable and people weren't repurchasing as often.
I had some dryfit socks that I still have from 2010ish. I bought some dryfit socks 2 years ago that have already worn in the heel. Better for me to buy socks every 2 years than every 10 years.

It's too complicated to

The cheaper ADV stuff is thinner, breezier, and more flattering than the Slam fabric in the recent items I have from 2022-23

I suppose the thicker Slam fabric is better at absorbing sweat or whatever but the comfort of the cheaper material is miles ahead imo

Perhaps my eyes are deceiving me, but is Dimitrov testing out the Vapor 12? He’s been spotted wearing all white out shoes that’s a Vapor but doesn’t look like his usual ZV9s

Link? I thought he was with Asics as of earlier this year

I think alcaraz 2023 Wimbledon crew was great. Good combo of being lightweight but also cut nicely with some good quality to it.

That's actually one model I don't have at all. I typically don't buy crews bc I don't like stuff around my neck, which is why I like that combo u/v neck that Alcaraz wore outside of the Slams.

Yes, it's not clear what shoe it is because the logo isn't there
It looks like the Vapor 12 but also no logo like you said. Perhaps it’s Lacoste’s version that they’re having him test out. If anything it isn’t had hard to replicate the ZV9 cause On did the same with the RP1

The grey/orange and blue/green ones are slick.

They look clean and light. Look wise, I prefer the Vapor X as it is more technical and aggressive looking. Nike went soft on these. Also, the forefoot outsole is a long as the heel outsole. That's odd.

The design of the 9/9.5 is a better looking shoe.

I agree, the 9 specifically had an incredible aesthetic the way the panels in the upper contrasted with the other colors in the uppers vamp and lateral/medial sides. A moment in time of awesome functional design. This is still a step in the right direction. Back towards the adaptive fit. I don’t love the apparent VP2 style tongue but it could work. I’m optimistic about this one. Unfortunately the 9/9.5 may be where they peaked from an aesthetic perspective. Incredible looking shoes

but for the next two years, Vapor Pro 3 will coexist with Vapor 12. If Nike is that concerned about that, why bother to release the Vapor Pro 3? They have more than sufficient of budget/take down models
dude, BUSINESS. People have grown trust whether we like it or not in the comfort speed ratio of a model, and some are just motivated to stay with the pro either way no matter what. This is no budget model, its more expensive by a far margin and more high quality, and there taking advantage of our wants for such a vapor x type shoe. Therefore the more premier fans need to pay bigger bucks for vapor 12. As for releasing the VP3 early, there are just more recreational players than class a athletes. Those recreational players want quality, performance, yet COMFORT. Remember the vapor pro line is still super popular and there best selling line and that's because of the goals this line is trying to achieve, and there simultaneously taking advantage of fans of the vp1 by making them pay more for something similar, and at the same time making the vp3 last longer on the shelves to gather as much money as they can from the recreational or straight up vapor pro fans. Its something so smart only a 30 billion dollar company would know best.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been ready to pay anything near full retail for a Nike tennis shoe, but it looks like the moment has arrived.

This really justifies the opinion of all those who thought the Vapor 11 was a big mistake and a total anomaly for a Vapor release.

The 11 has been completely abandoned in almost every measurable way for this new release, and Nike might actually be somewhat back on track after a few years in the wilderness.

They look like a Vapor...for some reason I think of the Vapor V a little bit in terms of appearance, but maybe that's just me. I'm intrigued, though I'm not getting my hopes up too much as Nike generally has disappointed with tennis sneakers for many years now. I don't really change or try new tennis sneakers anymore (learned my lesson after hurting my toe in a pair of Wilson Rush Pro 3.5s..) and only stick to the Vapor line and primarily the Vapor 9.5 (though I've had to make do with a pair of 11s and a pair of Vapor Pros just to save some of my 9.5 stock--I don't love either one), so I'd be happy if Nike offered a fast, comfortable, light, and well-fitting sneaker.

I agree. There is a Vapor V look to them for sure. It really looks like a bit of a return to form for Nike, but you’re right it might be better to not get our hopes up too high given Nike’s recent track record.

dude,
you miss the point. I am not arguing to discontinue the VP3 or VP Line. I am just curious why Nike has to release VP3 way earlier than Vapor 12 or the other way round. That's sounds absurd to me BUSINESS wise

Probably because the VP3 look terrible compared to the Vapor 12s and they just want to get them out and have people buy them before releasing the Vapor 12

Probably also because they want to tie in Sinner's endorsement deal with a retail offering on the strong chance that he wins AO

The white/ black and cream/navy blue are the only colorways left compared to the VP 3 colorways. I guess the cream/navy will be my go to if no other colorway comes out by the release date

It seems to me that when Nike went Vapor Pro the Pro line was supposed to be a more rugged, more thicker outsole and feel.
When they released the Vapor 11 and Vapor Pro 2, it felt like they went the opposite route. Vapor 11 was the thicker, more durable shoe while the Vapor Pro 2 was lighter closer to the Vapor X, probably wears out quicker.
It seems they now went the opposite. Vapor 12 is the lighter, closer look to Vapor X. Vapor Pro 3 is the thicker outsole, bulkier feel.

I see what you're saying and until we try them out it's all speculation, but that's what I'm a little concerned with. I don't think the VP3 looks any more durable or comfy than the VP2, so with the cage 4s likely being discontinued and the vapor 12 diverging from the vapor 11, where is the high end durable/supportive shoe in Nike's lineup?
