I haven’t worn Vapors since the introduction of the ZV9.5 almost 10 years ago, but these looks promising. Extra cushion and padded tongue is a plus. Too bad no shank of some kind on the sole.

I’m really curious about the durability of these shoes. I’ve never seen a tread pattern like those outside of Nike.

Just based on looks, the Vapor Pro is gone and the VP2 is the new NXT Takedown. Where the V11 is the new NXT. But, hey, there's at least 1 color way of the 9.5 coming back!

So basically.... hahaha, because the Vapor Pro was so well received, they've effectively discontinued the Vapor shoes and reverted back to what worked.

Nice going Nike. All you had to do was continue a winning design in the form of 9/9.5/10.

Well, at least you realized it and brought back one winning formula.

I appreciate their drive to innovate, but it has caused some big misses simply for the sake of change.

Vapor 9.5 was one; GP Turbo is another.

Cage 4 was an awesome upgrade to the Cage 2 and 3, but it left us without a truly breathable durable shoe.

At this point, I can care less about what happens to the Vapor line now that the 9.5 is back. Especially when the next releases are only Vapor in name.

I personally do not categorize the 10 with the 9 series of Vapors. The 9/9.5s were the same generation. The 10/Pro are of the same gen, too. I categorize the generations based on the outsole design.

Yeah I can see that. To me, it was the lacing system. Which is why I grouped the 9/9.5/10 together for myself.

9/9.5 were truly the best. 10 being the next best thing, and Pro being "ugh... fine, next next next next closest thing"

This new shoes is supposed to be performance shoes that perform while playing tennis matches. does it perform and give you the best movement and jumping abilities as possible ??

Given these look nearly identical to the Vapor 11 and I'd swear they're the same shoe...
(Sincerely) can someone tell me the "technical" differences between the two? I'd even settle for some press briefer type tidbits if anyone has them.

Seems like the regular 11 is the premium model due to the translucent foot-frame-midsole-combo design rather than the 11Pro’s more traditional midsole/upper design. The classic V9 and 9.5 had the standard midsole/upper design BUT had the TPU foot frame piece wrapping from interior side to tip of outside toes and had the three teeth parts for support around the midsole; the 11Pro seems to have no TPU foot frame just a molded midsole.

No clue on Nike’s “story” of the 11’s new combo midsole tech (weight saving, streamline, blah blah), will have to wait and see.

But the 11Pro at first glance seems to be a takedown similar to the old Vapor Advantage. Yes, I know it has Zoom, I know some pros are trying it; it’s prob a good shoe just not the top of line.

These designs are all-new so I expect all the Nike athletes to be trying all of them (Nadal trying Vapor11s!!!) so come Australia they are dialed in & confident; are not wearing old stock which is embarrassing to the brand. (Think about Sinner signing a huge contract and occasionally wearing Zoom Zeros, ouch)

Posted in 11s thread too:

Vapor 11s and Vapor Pro 2s arrived today, tried both of them while playing doubles for a couple hours.

The cushioning in the 11s is really nice and they feel more sturdy than a normal 'Vapor' line shoe, without feeling bulky. Padded tongue is great as is the more normal lacing, and fit true to size without the narrowness of recent Vapor Pros. Coming from the Cage 4s (where I went half a size down), Vapor Pros (half size up), and GP Turbos as my most recent shoes, they felt like a nice balance in between them.

The Vapor Pro 2s were a bit weird. They have a more narrow fit, but not as much as the original Vapor Pros, with a bit more cushioning than the last generation and less of an inward tilt. They didn't feel any quicker than the 11s, though, and the upper felt a bit cheaper / needing to break in more. They felt like a cheaper version of the 11s, overall.

I may have just been biased by the price points etc but, if anything, I was expecting the Pros to be more up my alley.

Do either of them have a noticeable inward slant?

@innoVAShaun sorry if I missed it, but is there a breakdown on the differences between the 2s and 11s?
Actually I found specs on Nike Spain:

Nike Vapor 2
For endless rallies and endless games that you just have to win, go for the Vapor Pro 2. We've brought back all the elements of the original Pro, like the low-profile design, the springy Zoom Air cushioning that helps you go from a end-to-end of the court with the familiar Vapor comfort that keeps you cool on unforgiving surfaces.

Low profile design for high speeds
This design is lower profile and offers incredible lightness on the court for fast movements.

reactivity in action
Zoom Air unit in the forefoot that offers elasticity from the first step to help you launch a winning forehand from the baseline or reach the net immediately. The cushioned midsole offers support without adding unnecessary weight.

Light, breathable and durable
Reinforced, durable mesh to keep feet cool and offer additional support.

more advantages
  • Inner elastic fabric that wraps the foot to offer a fit similar to that of a sock.
  • The outsole has been created with a herringbone pattern based on data to offer a grip that does not affect your slides.
  • Rubber-free design in low-wear areas to keep weight to a minimum.
  • Full-length frame on the upper to stabilize the foot during fast cuts.

Nike Vapor 11
The biggest stars of the game swear to us: the Vapor 11 is back and better than ever. This lower profile model is built for speed. It helps you play at a breakneck pace with enough support to keep you running until the very last minute. Major supports like the trusted molded sidewall and breathable upper are matched with the fast-moving, durable design you love.

Low profile design for high speeds
The Vapor 11's design offers lower court contact than any of our previous iterations, so it's incredibly light with its fast movement and explosive cutaways.

Easy to put on and take off
Comfortable inner half-sleeve and simplifies access to the shoes so they are easy to put on and take off.

I feel like they need to revise their 'full-length frame' note on the Vapor Pro 2 - where is that? Do they mean just the molded midsole with the notch at the forefoot?

I guess the VP2 has a full inner sleeve and the V11 has a half one?
