We have all watched them display their mastery and what they have achieved across all surfaces/conditions. Federer is a superior tennis player than Nadal everywhere except clay. Doesn't matter how they spin the stats to make Nadal looks better, truth is... Federer has outclassed Nadal at the AO, Wimbledon, USO, and indoor season including the WTF. Not to mention he spent more weeks at the top, his peak dominance was unparallel and owns most of the ATP records.

Federer is a hardcourt and a grass goat. He had 3 slams venues in his favour, yet Nadal is the slam leader! The fact is, it takes Federer 2 best slams to tie Nadal titles at RG. How incredible is that?

Slams count is not the be-all and end-all. Do you actually go by Court>Serena>Graf just simply go by their slam count?

I can't say Davydenko would have won a slam even in this era, only due to his mental fragility and his money-first mentality. But in terms of pure level of tennis, I honestly don't see how Zverev, Tsitsipas, and even Medvedev are better than him. They could only dream of going 6-1 up head to head against a prime Nadal on hardcourts. In fact, they have shown they are much worse than that against a far inferior, older, and injury-ridden Rafael Nadal. He dominates all of them to this day. Davydenko dominated a much tougher version of Nadal on hardcourts.

Actually Zverev has pretty good success of Nadal of hardcourt in the latter part of the h2h, and Zverev has a pretty high peak. But I agree with your post. Maybe in a stronger era we would see Zverev peaking more.
