Nishesh Basavareddy

We know of him here in the middle of the west as my son was in juniors with him being a couple of years behind my son.

He was a very good player but man that grip in the photo above. He has to have someone fix that to stay on the tour. He needs to get someone to switch that around.

Is it more extreme than Fritz? Fritz FH is ok...

It will be nice for him, and I think he can push him in a set or two. I wish we had gotten somebody else so he could get a win maybe even two wins, definitely on his way.

With a win to today, he can get into the top 100.

Such a shame this match was – he really did outplay Monfils throughout the first set, but then lost the tiebreaker. When I first saw him play at Stanford and what he was supposed to be, I thought maybe a top 50 or 75 player of Beth, but he has already way better than that.

I think Nishesh is hitting the ball really well and this will hurt Monfils in the AO. He will be gassed. He should have lost this match to keep his reserves for the coming 5 setters.

I think Nishesh will easily get one set. Maybe even push Novak to a close 4th set. I don't foresee Novak winning this AO. I have always felt he will be more motivated to win Wimbledon.

While it was a really good experience for him to play Djokovic, I feel that if he had gotten somebody else other than Djokovic or Alcaraz or sinner or a few others, he really could’ve gotten a win or two

From where you heard that. If thats true, it will be shocking. From what i see of his 1st round match, he should be a top 50 player
The commentators mentioned it in the replay I was watching. The second surgery for the meniscus tear kept him out for more than a year. Meniscus tears are always bad, especially if it has happened before he has even got to the rigors of professional tennis.
