Too late..lost gen has no future now.. It all about Old gen and next gen and Nishikori can't identify himself with anyone of them.

Dante Berrettini?

Nishikori should stay with him, he's doing well like USO semis.
You mean Danke Berrettini

But just so you know, Berrettini is actually Italian and is also a brand of knockoff Barilla pasta, so we know for a fact that he will become almost as great and talented as Federer

Edit: also he will become almost as al dente as Federer

I don't know how much difference it is gonna make. But a new coach can aid him in closing out matches easily instead of constantly pushing it into deciders.

He should've split long time ago because he seemed to have plateaued under Dante's wing (and Chang for that matter). After 9 years Nishikori's serve is still one of the worst in men's tour. Even some WTA players have better serve than Kei.

Perhaps his traditional Japanese upbringing values loyalty above all, but that might have cost him a GS title or at least better career during his prime time.

If he can stay healthy 5 or so more years he may have another chance, but it'll get tougher because the next torch bearers are maturing their game as well.

He was doing good, he lost only to quality opponents from RG18 to WI19

Rg18 Thiem (finalist)
Wi18 Djokovic (winner)
Uo18 Djokovic (winner)
Ao19 Djokovic (winner)
Rg19 Nadal (winner)
Wi19 Federer (winner.. oops finalist )

Pretty decent year Slam-wise but it's clear he needs everything to fall into place for him to even win a Masters and he's turning 30 soon.

It’s 127, over by 43. That’s not nitpicking.
It's not nit-picking, it is Nishibashing though...

So... what do we do with these 127 million Nishi fans? Do we ignore them as "small number coz less than 170"? Or do we accept that Nishikori is a huge star in Asia?

Oh, right... Asia... China, I hear, has quite a large population... But I'm sure there will be people negating the relevance of that fan-block too...

... because they're not located in the USA or Western Europe.

... Or because they allegedly would never root for a Japanese player.

Opinions?
