Guys, couple questions here :
1. How can pro player get sponsorship ?
2. How can the sponsors know that the pro will hit big time into the scene which = sales on the clothing and other stuff? Nadal or Federer for example
3. How come the no1 and no 2player in the world always wear Nike , again correct me if I'm wrong(now Fed and Nadal) and during Agassi-Sampras ( both were no.1 and no. 2 right ) though Agassi left Nike last year

thanks

I'm assuming (just a guess) that big companies like Nike and Wilson have talent scouts, much akin to a top college. They sign a player at the first sign of promise and hope it plays out. In the end, I'm sure the advantage goes to the big companies. Plus, within tennis circles it's often known who are the potential number ones.

well, nike always signs the young ones with a decent amount of hype/talent. One example is ashley harkleroad, she was supposed to be a great american star, but she turned out to be a bust. Nwo she has been with adidas for the past couple of years. But really Nike is GOD, so they create all these players and make sure they sponsor them.

its not always nike, what about when it was safin-kuerten, it wasnt nike-nike, it was adidas-diadora. and theres plenty more cases when this has happened. its barely ever nike-nike.

I don't like Nike. Most shoes are too thin (I have wide feet). Adidas, Reebok or Diadora are good for me.
