No end in sight for GOATerer!

Really, what's the downside if he can handle the losses and not have too much injury issues? He makes millions upon millions, travels the world, is constantly adored, and no one is nagging him to quit.

Hard to understand what he would stop beyond being ready to not play tennis and do all that.
Holding you to your (many, many) retirement predictions for the old GOAT. ;)

Not really. I have no personal loss or gain with him retiring so all I have ever said was the timing seems about right for him, more than any other time. Still think it will happen. We will know come Laver, or this next year.

If he continues, good. We can continue to guestimate when he'll hang up the gloves. I will have more guestimates then.

And I am not sure how everyone has the Fed retirements stick in mind, but none of the other Nadal or Djo retirements.
Weird.

admire this thing abt Fed.
Very motivational and inspiring .
If not for this man , Djokodal would have retired by now .
Hats off to Big 3 .

We don't value them ,but fact is Big 3 have pushed other Sports into tier 2 and tier 3 events , when it comes to drama and history .. Enjoy it till it lasts

The worst news of all this is for Djoker.

I could see Fed and Nadal adding a couple slams each. Maybe getting to 22 and 21 respectively.

That makes the climb that much harder for Djoker. And at some point the next gen will trouble Novak :)

i see this as a positive for Novak .
If Fedal stay on tour , They will beat the young players on their side of draw and meet Novak in semis and finals . And Novak has beaten them in 8 slams in a row . He knows how to beat them in big matches .
If they stay on tour , expect Novak to win more slams .

He could...if the stars align perfectly...
It happened many times in his career...why not once or twice more?
IMO, he will not finish with most slams
Stars don't align perfectly that many times in a career or the saying wouldn't make sense. He did his winning and did it in style. No one in the world was available to stop it. That's not stars aligning. That's greatness.

hmmm...the greatness is winning in the era of the greatest.
Not in the era of Roddicks, Phillapousis, Baghdadis, Hewitts...
The stars did align more than once, including his joke draw at this year's USO. Too bad he did not utilize it.

The stars aligned for every single UO that Nadal has won, but I didn't feel the need to point that out in this thread until you came along.

Hmm, beating Novak at the USO 2012 (?) was not really perfect star alignment...
Also, I am far from “Nadal folk” as you call them...

Who cares though. At this point, trying to determine who the GOAT is amongst the B3 is about as riveting as arguing about who your favourite band is. With their respective achievements and mastery of the game, it's really just about personal taste at this point.

Like I keep saying, Drake has better numbers than the Beatles. Does that make him better??

Not sure whom you are referring, but there is no player Fed is exactly 5 slams ahead of.

Djokovic 16 (4 slams behind)
Sampras 14 (6 slams behind)
for particularly gifted students it's always will be faaaaaaive, no matter what, even if the desert will turn green it still will be ffffaaaaaaaaive
