No plow through with Dunlop 4D 300 Tour Aero? Help?

Okay. So I just played with my new (used) Dunlop 4D 300 Tour Aerogel with stock strings (silk 1.3mm) and found that when I tried to hit hard, the ball flew on me and it did not feel like I was hitting a very heavy ball or getting much follow through. The only good balls I hit were low, crosscourt medium topspin shots that were short and I had to reach down for and use wrist action to impart topspin. On serve, I felt I could not get enough power because my feel was off. In the set I used a borrowed stock LM Radical MP and, while it also felt light, I served better with more feel. Groundies were better too, but the ball still flew a bit when I tried to hit out. Both of these racquets are about 11.3 oz and I'm used to playing with a Wilson Sting or Hyperhammer 7.4 which both are around 12.3 oz.

Any thoughts? Can I adjust my 300 4D with lead tape or do I simply need a heavier racquet?

I never got much plow or power with the 300T compared to other sticks. The 200 is rather low powered as well, but it hits with more plow and is an excellent frame.

You may want to wait for the new 400 coming out. It is supposed the address the lack of power in the 200,300 series. Heavier at around 11.5oz.

SW is low, so needs weight to increase the SW. Lead in the hoop and weight in the handle. You'll end up with all the 'plow through' that you'll need. Plays much better after that. Loads of threads on this already (about leading this particular racquet).

Thanks. I'm not being lazy. I actually did a search and came up with some stuff on leading (and read the TW stuff), but did not find the racquet specific string. I used some lead in HS on my Sting, but mostly at 9 and 3 to provide a PWS effect--none of us used it in the handle... I'll look again, but if anyone knows right off where to find the string on this specific racquet, I'd be grateful.

Okay. I found it.

I'm still wondering if just going with the 200 might be a better solution...

Thanks everyone.

Dunlop 4D 200 is much heavier than 4D 300 Tour. You should demo it and see if you can swing it comfortably.
