No pressure for Nadal

Federer turns 38 in a matter of weeks.

The "pressure" is squarely on the younger chasing pack for the remainder of his career. :)

*yawn*
Doesn't this actually put pressure on Fed, whose aspirations to add further slams have an ever-approaching expiration date?

Fed could always contract the services of Parche, Harding, and Associates to take some of the pressure off. :sneaky:

Honest about what? Do I think Fed will lose? Yes. Do I think he is the underdog and should be? Yes. Do I think this helps Rafa's legacy? Yes. Does it hurt Feds? No.

Am I butthurt? Yes. :p
No, man. Fed got this, you will see. It might be slow grass, but it is still grass. The bounce is very low and Nadal won't be able to punish Fed. That being said, Nadal is serving and returning relatively well, so he still stands a chance.

Realize that these guys are actually competing to see who will lose the Final against Djokovic, so losing the SF is not such a great deal.

All the pressure on Federer. He HAS to win this event. A loss to either Nadal or Djokovic will hurt his legacy.

Nadal and Djokovic have their pet slams in the bag...This is Federers and he now has to step up.

My gut feeling is Nadal in 4. If outdoors. If roof closed then could be Federer in 4.

If it goes 5 its Nadal . But if it goes 5 hand Djokovic the trophy on saturday.

I think at this point considering most players are retired by his age it wont really hurt his legacy in terms of the actual loss but will give Nadal and Djokovic a great chance to overtake his slam count. If Nadal wins it's almost certain he makes 20 slams, even if Djokovic does he has a good shot

If Fed were struggling right now I'd agree but he's not so I don't see why his age really matters. Losing could negatively impact his legacy for a few reasons honestly. So yes, he has something to lose and he doesn't get a pass.

He fluctuates during matches too much (due to age), so I don't see him maintaining it like AO17.

No pressure on Nadal? Funny. He’s picking his shorts as we speak, twitching more than normal and rearranging the labels on his water bottles. He’s been owned by Fed over the last several h2h and knows this is Feds best surface (even though the surface has been slowed as to make sure everyone gets a trophy, even those who plod on dirt).
