Just floating an idea.
There are going to have to be a boatload of changes after the inflated glut that they engineered.
Wouldn't necessarily be a "punishment" for strong players. As an example, performance-based incentives could be added to the tournaments.

That "tournament" is so odd.
Restricted entry. Handsomely rewarded for participation.
Tour needed (still needs) a jump-start... but I don't recall previous generations getting the freebie leg up!

Hmm.
It's not that I want this format; this is a thought experiment.
But in any case, it would apply to the entirety of the Tour. Not an exclusive thing.
That Next Gen tourney is open only to selected 21-and-unders. And they get a boatload of cash simply for playing it.

How would this work in real life though? "Sorry you were the best and have beaten your opponent in the finals, but he gets the trophy as you have already won this tournament once?". Like little league. Trophy for participation for all? Where is this world heading to?
