Yes huge but let’s not proclaim she’s gonna be an all time great or something wait a bit to see how she handles the pressures and how she fares on the tour.I mean it is too early to say. She played an amazing fortnight and didn’t drop a set. She did have a very good draw not facing any top 10 players or slam champions but to be ranked #150 in the world at her US Open debut and to win the title? Huge.
She went through qualifying and won the entire tournament without dropping a single set. I doubt that with that level of play she'll suddenly start playing poorly, although it could happen, but I don't think it's likely.
Yes but even so, she's won multiple majors and wasn't a one slam wonder. I doubt she'll win another one but we're not talking about her, we're talking about Emma. And Emma seems to be a much happier person and with a much more positive outlook on life than Osaka.Pressure gets to people. Look at Osaka now a mental case.
Quite impressive and hopefully she carries this form forward. WTA needs someone consistently pushing for slam titles.Didn't lose a single set in TEN matches
Are you saying she is the female twin sister of Djokovic? The interesting thing about Raducanu that is different than other slam winners is that it wasn’t really her strokes that won it for her.
It was her superior athleticism. She has an extra gear of speed for covering the court. She outclassed Fernandez with her superior movement. Fernandez seemed deflated because she couldn’t hit through her with shots that worked great against Osaka and Sabalenka.
I was taking you seriously till you mentioned Kournikova in the same breath as greats….All of the greatest players have met their match at some point. They may not have lost everything, but they were surely stymied from having the tour in a chokehold.
Navratilova stymied Evert
Graf stymied Seles
Hingis stymied Kournikova
Serena stymied Venus
Henin stymied Serena
Any one of these players would've held the tour for over a decade if not for the one in front of them. Will Raducanu have someone in front of her? That remains to be seen. Osaka claimed mental health struggles from before her first slam title yet went on to amass 4. No one was in front of her. You can accomplish some devastating things without an equally strong foil.
Please don’t include me here. Not all of us said the same about those girls. We said the same about these girls. Let's see what happens.
Ostapenko
Andresscu
Swiatek
Stephens
Krejcikova
Kennin
Wozniacki
Why should I be bothered by your opinion when you bring up "MIT" and other elitist nonsense? If you've a coaching cert, please post it here. Kournikova was the world #1 juniors player and suddenly was forced to not play any tournaments for months at a time because she was a test subject for the age-based regulations Raducanu is now benefitting from, 25 years later.I was taking you seriously till you mentioned Kournikova in the same breath as greats….
i don’t need to be any kind of a coach to find you placing Kournikova (0 tournament wins, never mind 0 majors) in the same company as Graf, Navratilova, Serena, Hingis etc utterly laughable. Why should I be bothered by your opinion when you bring up "MIT" and other elitist nonsense? If you've a coaching cert, please post it here. Best comment in this thread!Emma is destined to surpass Court slam count and become the new Goat. Anything less and she is a mug.
More like li na but with a cooler head (for now)Are you saying she is the female twin sister of Djokovic?
Not all of them but everyone was psyched for swiatek. She has the potential and is no way as terrible as ostapenko but she lost a bit of confidence and it’s affecting her game. Please don’t include me here. Not all of us said the same about those girls.
I mean thiem has been a one slam wonder .The ATP is begging for one-slam-wonders. They've dried up.
Ostapenko is from Latvia I think. This girl is from UK. It matters. This girl will get hype 10 times any other one slam wonder..Wta is notorious for one slam wonders in recent times. If Emma stays focused and professional she can maintain it. Whatever Bouchard and Ostapenko did she needs to do the opposite
We (cough cough) ?We said the same about these girls. Let's see what happens.
Ostapenko
Andresscu
Swiatek
Stephens
Krejcikova

Yes!I predict she’ll win 50 slams…in reality, does anybody really have a clue at this point?
Her athleticism sure is an important part of her total package. But she has much more, and at the end of the dayThe interesting thing about Raducanu that is different than other slam winners is that it wasn’t really her strokes that won it for her.

Yeah, I was taking him seriously until he mentioned Graf stymied Seles! LOL!!!I was taking you seriously till you mentioned Kournikova in the same breath as greats….
