Nole fans, how do you feel ?

How do you feel Nolefam ? Do you feel happy, or disappointed that Novak didn't beat Fed much earlier ? He had his chances before TB, before Fed's matchballs.
Do you feel nerves played with Novak yesterday or Fed was really tactically and physically better player ?

I feel stunning. :D

Djokovic could have played better for sure, especially the serving part. But Federer did many things well and never allowed him to settle. Exceptional performance at that age.

Bizarre win in a way because Fed finished with a lead in almost every stat. But Djokovic was rock solid on most biggest points. A historic 5th set tiebreaker win was more satisfying than a routine win would have been honestly.

Don't care about Fed fans. They easily get "emotional" over far less than this. This is our moment. And that's what matters.

Basically I am wondering how did he pull it off ? Federer played better throughout and could have won in straights but realistically should have won in four. Also it was so tense for me that I barely finished so I guess I'll wait for a replay to analyze the match properly.

May be I can talk as someone who likes him immediately after Rafa. I would have been more emotionally invested had it been rafa but boy was it exhausting watching the match wanting Novak to win. I think the biggest feeling is relief. It felt that there was just too much at stake here. It still feels now that Novak is in the sport - the motivation to win, the hunger for more slams etc is still very much alive and burning. I am super glad he won and hope he keeps winning.

On the match front - his return was off. He is much better than the version we saw yesterday. I also think he could have done more in the second set and it could have been different. Lots of- 40-0 games were brought to deuce because of low first serves in as well. Can do better but as of now, I think he is the strongest player mentally.

That is my impression as well - big relief, because I was watching only updated result at my phone and not match itself. I really can't imagine how was it for many of you, but knowing what is at stake, what could this win give Novak, and what kind of pressure he must have been going through... I guess relief is one of those feelings that must be primary.

Wow you shouldn't have missed watching - Fed threw everything at him and more and Novak still came out on top. People say Rafa is mentally strong but that was before 2014. I think Novak is a mental beast. @SystemicAnomaly was mentioning that Halep also consulted psychologists to make her strong - I wish we know how Novak became this mental giant. It will be a fascinating insight. The best point for me in the whole match was where he dived at the forehand for a winner. I want to watch the whole match again. You should too...you will be more relaxed as well :)

Sorry, I don't understand (and never will) how a Nadal fan can be a Djokovic fan as well.

And I will watch it☺:) This is just too big match not to watch replay of it.
Now what bugs me is how this match will influence Novak's and Rogers mindset in future Slams. Although Roger will be 38, maybe this could give him wings and Novak more doubts.

Because they are very different players.
That's the beauty and my God what beautiful strokes were on display from Federer too....breathtaking ones. Really it is I who don't understand how anyone cannot like a player playing at the top levels...

Djokovic is a top player but I find him extremely boring. Yesterday in the first two tie breaks he was basically holding the ball in play and collecting Federer's errors.

There were two occasions when I felt bigger relief. 2014 Wimbledon because he was struggling at Slams generally at the time, and 2016 Roland Garros because obviously he struggled at that tournament, and in both finals he got tight when getting close to the finish line. Looking back, it felt like those were the most important wins for his career.

But I would lie if I said this Wimbledon isn't up there with the most satisfying victories ever. And considering Novak has won 16 big ones, some of them being truly awesome runs, it tells a lot about how incredible this one was.

Everybody talking about Novak being a mental giant, and to me (his fan) he played like a mental midget that was lucky to have even worse choker as an opponent.
Novak's play and mind set were awful. Not a glimpse of aggressiveness until those Federer's match points. He would often just watch balls pass by him. And I think this is a trend that started after AO. I hope he snaps out of it soon.

I feel hollow hollow victory.
The better man lost yesterday.
I was on a high in 2014,2015 Wimbledon finals and 2015 USO final when Djokovic BEAT Federer.

Yesterday Federer lost, he choked , he should have won and Novak knows this.
I Just felt relieved when it was over, not much joy like other slams victories...

I mean both had opportunities.

Fed match points set point etc etc.
Novak was up a break in the 5th.

True true, but I don't hate Federer and really feel for the guy ...

now if that was Nadal he beat after Rafa having 2 MPs I'd probably be dancing on the streets wrapped in the Serbian flag ... :D:D:D:D

I am ofcourse incredibly delighted he won. That said my experience watching the match was a rather negative one, which leads me to the conclusion that I've gotten way too much invested in Big 4 bandwagoning and I didn't enjoy the match. I actually avoided watching most of it. I don't want that to happen again. I want to love the game, and not be too invested in disliking players or fanbases, and that's what happened too much lately.

I absolutely loved Djoko's celebration after the match. Especially with the crowd being so against him, it feels like the best thing he could've done.

Jump on YouTube and watch the AO final from earlier this year - he can play defensively yes, but my god he played with extreme aggression and completely slaughtered Nads in Australia. It all depends on his gameplan.

This is social media, it's not real life, maybe we shouldn't use it so much, it's not natural. None of the fans act this way in real life. Even myself, I never act that way in real life. I never diss Djokovic or Nadal fans in real life. Maybe because I don't see you here as a real person, it's like talking to a computer. For me now you are just a computer screen, it all seems fake.

Also very important part, most of communication is tone of voice and body language and since you can't see that here, you just project your own thoughts and maybe people aren't even critical, you just interpret it that way, since you can't read emotions online.

Big 4? I don't believe that's been a thing for a number of years now, to compare Murray to any of the Big 3 is insulting to their respective efforts.

Those are interesting takes since many of us thought Novak was favourite before match, maybe it is ok to feel like that.

It is not natural, but it is like reading a book or reading a column in a magazine. Writer is placing his emotions and thoughts without any face expressions or body language.

Because you don't like tennis.

You're a fan of 1 single player.l and only care about stats.
Fed has had to play rafa and djok in most grand slams. It would be nice to see djok and nadal play for once in a while in a semi, would create a rivalry that no one currently talks about.

Ppl expect a 37 yr old to beat two t2 goats in 48 hours, lol it doesnt work that way or they wouldnt be t2 goats.

Fed usually didn't have to play them at least not in amount Nole and Rafa did.
Remember Rafole semi at Wmb ?
Nobody expected Fed to win it before match, but during everything changed. And especially for some of you that were speaking lousy of Novak, I am glad it happened this way.

I was happy when it finished and Novak won, but wasn't that happy as I would suppose to be. I guess that I eas too exhausted, mentally, even maybe physically too. I couldn't even watch 5th set, was looking score at flashscore site, I felt that I could get hart stroke, I am crazy, I know, my wife wanted to kill me. This days I will settle down my thoughts, will watch replay and enjoy match...

About Fed fans I feel real sorry about them and their feelings, it must be very hard for them. I understand their bitterness about way Fed lost, they are ever right that Fed should win, but big (y) for Novak for being best when it is most important, so he deserved this win. I personally will give them few days breakup to settle down before start hating Fed again.

And about Fed, he was great, perfect tactics, great serving, strong from baseline... Etc... Etc... He wasn't that great at crucial moments and that costed him match.. Novak was quite oposite, not that good, partially because of Fed great playing, but he was somehow flat, non emotional, too passive which I wasn't expecting... But in crucial moments hecwas The Man.

Happy because he is mental giant, but...Last couple years Djokovic manage to play 100% in the Slams final. That not happen yesterday. He plays on 70-80% all match except tie breaks. Try to do it (100%) in first part in 4th set, but nothing happen. Maybe the reason is Federer, maybe he simple lacks of that type of energy. He didnt serve well, he didnt read Federer serve also (didnt break him 3 hours). I hope im not gonna see this version of Novak again in the Slam final. 3:0 is maybe boring, but not for me :)

You do realise Nadal and Djokovic have played the most times? Please, learn your history, don't post comments that make zero sense, and re-enter reality when you're ready.

Your prediction was based on bias that finally came true, dont pat yourself too hard on the back for something that eventually happens.

They stopped putting names on the real wimbledon trophy back in 2012, Novaks name isnt even on it.

I feel Fed was clearly a better player through the match.
Novak played average lvl (lvl he can produce anytime) except in tiebreaks when he clearly upped his game. He himself said he had 20-30% better tennis in him but rarely managed to produce.
I didnt worried at all because i thought Rogers form will drop later in the match but honestly i was stunned with his performance. It looked to me he was feeling better late in the 5th and thats when i become worried.
Obv i prefer more this kind of win than a blowout because the way Nole won add something special behind. He had everything against him, he could easily fall but didnt. Thats huge. That mental aspect stands out.
Anyway, Roger was amazing. He was better in this match than 5 years ago. How can he play that good is a big enigma to me. Big respect to both guys!

Some say Fed can't keep up with Nole in 5 sets, boy that was really strange to witness yesterday. How can he be fresher than Novak at 11-11 is beyond reasonable comprehension.
