Definitely the field catching up.
He has simply got exposed by Zverev and Kyrgios. 0-3 this year and 0-6 in sets.
He is as good as ever. The competition just got better.
ObviouslyI'm sensing some kind of payback to the people who said this nonsense about Roger?
Heading into the FO, this year is Nole's worst result since 2006. He won only 1 small title(ATP250) and has a record of 16-5.
Nole's declined ?
Strong era begin ?
Discuss.

Novak is playing still at a very high level .
Novak will also age better than Fed. Djoko fans have solid proof
Hey, enjoy the Djokovic slump while u can Fed fans. If anything he's been improving and showing signs of pulling out of his rut throughout the clay season. He's clearly a slam contender again which I wouldn't have said 2 months ago
But I agree, he's never going to be back to 2015 levels again
Not sure anyone will age better than Fed! However I see Nole being in top 4/challenging for slams for another 2/3 years for definite....Agassi is such a good move....

Murray has a terrible start for his standard, but that doesn't mean Nole isn't having a disappointing season. He blamed on his coaching staff and fire them.Let's look on the bright side, there are only six players with better results so far this year. And things could be worse - he could be Murray right now!
I agree that Novak's having a worse season than Murray relative to their usual standards. Hopefully things will pick up in the second half of the year.Murray has a terrible start for his standard, but that doesn't mean Nole isn't having a disappointing season. His 2017 season in 2006 was horrific. So his 2006 start of the season was the worst 2017 start he's ever had?
In fairness, Verdasco played much better against Djokovic in the Doha semis(really should've won) than he did in the Dubai final against Murray and Novak had to play a great match to beat Andy for the title so IMO it pretty much evens itself out.Murray better season because Dubai is 500 Doha is a 250.

Since turning 30 Fed has won 2 slams, 8 masters and 1 WTF. Nadal won 2 masters. The race is on!

But if Nadal, say, were to win 4 slams after 30 would you still argue Fed aged better?I don't think that quite fully tells how good Fed has been - stats don't quite tell us everything!
Very busy. Trying to move house is a pain in the @rse, especially when you can't find anywhere to live.Where have you being??!
It was as if he aimed to peak for the semi and forgot he had another match to play the next day! Honestly can't recall the last time I saw one of the Big 4 play so great one day then be so abysmal the next.He was way too much celebrating after 1/2 final win LOL
In particular his win % aged 31, 33, 34 in 2012, 2014, 2015 are very impressive. As well as the amount of finals reached, grand slam finals, wins over peak Djokovic. He basically completely owned the 3rd generation after his but just came short against 27-29!year old Djokovic in BO5 which is no shame.I don't think that quite fully tells how good Fed has been - stats don't quite tell us everything!

Without Djokovic around, he would have won like 4 majors more post 30.
I would like Rafa / Novak / Murray to see if they can match Fed's
2012 : 71-12
2014 : 73-12
2015 : 63-11
Not been gone that long have I?You live?

Funnily enough I did think of that match earlier as an example of a player peaking in the semis and not playing as well in the final but no way was Federer anywhere near as bad in the '15 Wimbledon final as Djokovic was today. How about Fed's imperious semifinal form against Murray at Wimbledon 2015 and then laying down totally against your guy in the final? That was a great example.
The point was about playing at an insane level one day and not being able to replicate it the next. That's Wimb 2015.Funnily enough I did think of that match earlier as an example of a player peaking in the semis and not playing as well in the final but no way was Federer anywhere near as bad in the '15 Wimbledon final as Djokovic was today.
