Sportsmanship award is so dumb. In theory, I like it. But in the current format, it's more of a popularity contest.

For most improved...I would have picked Nishikori had he beaten Cilic, or had Cilic otherwise not won the Open. But I have to go with Cilic. Talent being present is one thing, being able to turn that talent into skill and results is another thing completely.

Comeback player of the year is Cuevas, imo, with Muller in second. Goffin's run has been impressive, but all the guy has done is dominate challengers to make his "comeback". Woohoo. I don't know much about Bolelli's but I stand by my pick.

I'd actually take Nishikori over Cilic for Most Improved, even if I doubt he'll win it for obvious reasons. Nishikori's play this year has been remarkable and significantly better than the year before, even if he didn't win the US Open. This is subject to change if Cilic wins some more tournaments before the year ends, of course. It's pretty close imo.

Disappointed Victor Estrella Burgos isn't among the 'Comeback' nominees. :(

He's had his best career to date year this year, so it isn't really a comeback, it's a progression.

I beg to differ..

During my long injury [layoff], I spent six difficult months thinking about retiring. I received support from people close to me that gave me strength to not give up. When I began the recovery process I became more determined, more physically energized and I looked forward to returning. I matured a lot and got stronger mentally too. I trained hard and returned to the tour with the strong desire to win [Emirates ATP Ranking] points, build my confidence and here I am. I won three tournaments and reached another final and almost qualified for the US Open after just four months.”

The Fed-conspiracy is so obvious, kind of funny really.

I'm a huge fan of his though, so I don't really care.
They can give him all the cupcake draws and awards they like.
It'll only make my smile wider.

He deserves those awards anyway, and he showed last week that he doesn't need the cupcake draws.

Last week, he needed an injured opponent in the final.

To be fair to Fed, he already won the Stefan Edberg sportsmanship award a gazillion times even before Moet became the sponsor of the award or he became their ambassador (and before the man himself became his coach ) , so there can't be a conspiracy to get him another one of those.

I know Cilic is going to win the most improved just because he won a slam, but it would be nice to see a young gun like Kyrgios win it since he jumped the most places in rankings. Might motivate him to work harder.

Fed's sponsor Rolex has been a partner of the ATP for a long time...

I like Kyrgios. He comes from my city, too!

How they can leave Fed out of Comeback Player of the Year is beyond me...

Cilic doesn't deserve anything after getting the suspension, same for Troicki.

Djoker may win it, but his past haunts the present.

Was it sportsmanlike all those barks in Swiss-German Federer made on opponent's UFE? Or his manic celebration when he beat Simon? To me that was the height of arrogance.
