Non-poly string recommendation for Yonex RD-7?

Finally found an RD-7 in nice shape, and honestly had no idea how much fun it would turn out to be, so I'd love to restring it and keep using it. It's currently strung with an old-but-not-ancient set of og sheep 17g that feels like it's in the low 40's by now, so it's launchy (which this racket doesn't need) and uncontrollable (which no one needs).

My priority is always comfort and arm safety so I'd love to string it with something rational that keeps the comfort but tames the launchiness and gives me some semblance of control. Hoping there are some suggestions out there!

Since it's an RD-7 here's a glamor shot

ytex touch might be nice for that frame. i've got a rd-7 in my bag atm strung hybrid with ytex microfiber-x mains/ touch crosses (because i need some help). between those two, touch is less launch-y and a bit more durable (if that matters).

nice score! they just don't paint 'em like that anymore, do they?

Im in the same boat as you, comfort & arm health is always my top priority. That said, my go to strings are always Head Velocity MLT 17G ($10/pack on Amazon) or Yonex Rexis Speed 16L (I buy this in reels because it's more like $19/pack, you can also find bundles of 10 packs on **** for under $100/bundle)

i've never used ytex before, maybe this is a good opportunity to try -- good to know about the durability but my secret shame is that i've never ever snapped a string

i've been playing primarily with a prince comp for the past few months and i didn't realize how reliant i had gotten on its relatively low launch angle to keep balls in play. switched to the rd-7 and i went from "wow this is fun" to "wow LOOK AT IT GO" in like 15 seconds!

any thoughts on tension for these ytex strings?

keep the brand loyalty... rexis speed or dynawire

rexis might be good idea too, never hit with speed, only comfort. have to think speed is still a pretty comfy hit?
