Novak Barricade Replacements!

#1
Hello All,
For the past couple of years I have been using the Novak Barricades, but with the line being discontinued, I am in need of similar shoes. I have a bit of a wide foot. I also toe drag so the most durable and supportive shoe is ideal!

Normal Barricades are too narrow in the mid foot area. I get blisters.

Are the Barricade Classics close to the old Novaks?
The 2018 ones are actually more open in midfoot and toebox than 2017 and 2016 ones. I would actually recommend them to those who felt Barricades in past years were too narrow for them. Completely different fit for me (I have medium to medium-wide, normal arch feet). And Boost version is also more comfortable than Novak Pros with better impact protection in my opinion. Hope that helps.

Hope this is true - as the reviews on TW are that they are still narrow....will need to try them out in a store.

Definitely try them out in a store if you can. Nothing beats that.

I have both versions actually. I have the Black/Scarlet 2018 Boost and the Black/Yellow 2017 Boost. Went down a size for 2018 ones because they were long - as rightly mentioned by good folk at TW. The 2017 is most definitely narrower compared to 2018.

If you look under fit details, even TW mentions 2017 runs narrower through midfoot. I haven't seen the video reviews yet so I am not sure what playtesters have to say specifically.

I think for someone with a medium to slightly medium-wide foot, the 2018 are fantastic. But feel is pretty subjective as I think even with Boost the shoes are firmer. Great impact protection but ride isn't super plush.
