Novak Djokovic 201X CYGS thread!!!

It's that time of the year when the followers of Lord Egg rise from the ashes.

Let's make this a regular event since Djok almost always wins AO.

We are into the 5th edition of our Djokovic CYGS mission. After missing by a whisker in 2008,2011,2012,2013, when posters were saying 'Djokovic will win CYGS this year', we say again in unison 'Djokovic will win CYGS this year'.

P.S.: When Djokovic wins AO in 2020, I will make a 2.0 version of this with 'Novak Djokovic 202X CYGS thread!!!'. So, don't get offended Djoko fans if I didn't consider 2020-later for this thread.

I don't think he'll do it but now he holds more than one slam for the first time since going into USO 2012. Last year he was massive favourite for the uS Open, if he'd won that we'd be talking about him completing a career slam with a non calendar year grand slam.

Then again, I still think RG will be the hardest to win, if he wins that there is no reason he can't win Wimbledo and the US but I fear he will have a unexpected loss somewhere like to Nishikori or Stan the man

You make the assumption that the H2H will be the same if it happens.

Djokovic would have an argument that isn't ludicrous but Nadal would still have his strong (maybe stronger) argument.

If Nole pulls it off, he will have managed to end yet another year as the world #1 also.

It's interesting to consider.

He would be greater at 3/4 slams. More weeks and years at #1. Far better on hard.( most competitve surface) Probably 4-0 at WTF.

More 3 slams years and the actual extra value of a CYGS.

I am making that assumption....CYGS great, but was Serena Slam or Tiger Slam that much worse?...total more important, especially if they have them all

big Sampras fan but I do admit Agassi winning a career slam partially makes up for the six slam difference....but the head to head added in too, makes it not quite equal I think there....it would be close for Novak, and like I said elsewhere if he wins RG by beating Nadal it would actually be a good dig at Fed...Nadal had his chance to have multiple at all here but failed once again..Fed could do it at RG again though obviously folks think now it's impossible for him

It is more what a CYGS would give him than just it itself. Would only be three behind but would have the other stuff like #1 and WTF on Nadal. But yes the slam would also add a bit extra in itself but it alone doesn't cancel out the 3 slams.

Novak will go close if he gets RG. If he gets RG his confidence will soar! With the extra week he would be refreshed and energised to get another wimbledon. Then it would all be on the us open! It's very likely if he can beat Nadal at the French!
