Novak Djokovic and the battle for the unprecedented 7th year ending number one title

Med just won his first major, I dont think he can make an incredible run to secure IW,Paris and Torino, plus I dont think he will play minor tournaments as he didn't do that much this year. So maybe Djokovic should go straight to Paris(he would be near his home, with family) and then travel like what 1 hour by plane to get to Italy for YEC? I would like him to show at IW play couple of matches and get to the SF(360 points are not small amount) but we have to consider his body and mind, which are hardly in great shape after that final. Again, what if Med wins IW and Djokovic doesn't show up? Difference comes to 1000 points and then Med has open doors for YE#1. But if he doesn't win(literally anything but win) then difference is a little below 1500 points, which is great margin IMO.And this is Djokovic's last chance for YE#1 so stop bulshiting that he doesn't care, ofc he cares,as he stated that he wants to break every record in sport he loves the most

It isn't about swaying your opinion. It is about Novak strengthening his case for the history books, since the numbers will remain after it is all said and done. All three are ATG and I don't believe in GOAT personally, but doesn't mean people will look back at these numbers and not see who was topping the most seasons overall.

Well, we all know TTW is a forum predominantly dominated by teenagers and folks who cannot appreciate more than their favorite player. They always have to deal in absolutes.

I hope better sense prevails among those who are able to dig deeper and analyze things in a more mature fashion.

Well, all he has to do is go a bit into the draw at Paris masters (did not play last year) and Vienna (perhaps IW too) and he is locked in.
He has 1000 points to defend in paris and 400 in ATP finals. Med needs to win Indian wells,Paris and WTF and an 500 to clinch No 1 ranking. Provided that djokovic plays poor rest of the year.

1300 points lead is enough to seal the year end No 1.

As Medvedev said... "Russians know how to party". I wouldn't be surprised if Daniel just went through the motions for the rest of the year.
