So if Nadal wins RG, but Djokovic was knocked out in an earlier round, so didn’t actually play Nadal, this would be another “asterisk” Open?
Open titles only count if a player has to beat Novak according to your logic?
I don't like the word asterisk but the big difference here is that Djokovic would've at least been part of the field, unlike this year's Australian Open.

No wait stop this is dangerous! Guys what happened. Was it just "rules is rules" no matter how stupid they were or was it about saving lives

Watch the french organizers push Nadal/Djokovic late into the day to make the conditions favour Djokovic. And then put the roof up. Nadal FH topspin under the roof...dies on the court...suddenly much less bouncy.

I definitely think the night conditions helped Djokovic, but also consider that all of that was also true in RG 2020 and Nadal still won in straights. And yes, even back then, StrongRule was basically spamming match threads with the whole Djokovic Open meme stuff.

I just don't want clay season match threads ruined by a guy talking about how Nadal has no chance about 50x per thread. Which is, no exaggeration, this poster's contribution to the forum.
Tsitsipas took all the energy out of Djokovic in the prior round.

Hold your horses everyone … the problem was never Nole getting into the country.

There is still a vaccination requirement to enter Roland Garros the facility under French law. This could be lifted but given Macron’s comments about pissing off the unvaccinated, it’s not a done deal…
ehh they’re letting in refugees all over Europe to Ukrainians regardless. I think this is partly why they’re doing this too.

Nadal is 20-0 in Clay bo5 Finals. Only twice was Nadal taken to a fifth set in a bo5 clay final when Federer blew match-points in the Italian Open and I think Coria did it the year before. The gap is closing with Tsitsipas, Alcaraz, and Zverev is a still factor. Will RG have them in the SF again in a night match again? This time the tournament will be a week earlier, and weather should be cooler. Too early to make any predictions other than Nadal, ND, and Stefanos being favorites.

Very glad tbh. I want to see elite players at their healthiest, however I just don’t trust Djoko’s form and Nadal is better than he’s been for a very long time

Well that and plus RG is the event Nadal has the much better record at and is always logically favored at anyway, and Djokovic beating him last year does not change that. Which is the complete opposite of the Australian Open situation over the years between the two, night and day difference between the 2 events in that regard.

After every loss :-

My foot was injured
My back was injured
My leg was injured
My wrist was injured
My d**k was injured
1st point - he skipped the almost the entire season after that match which means his injury was not a pretext but a fact , btw he did admit that he can't be winning Rg each and every year too.
Similar cases with other injuries too.
I don't understand whats so puzzling for you here

Djokovic has shown that he's more than capable of beating Nadal on Chatrier but the question is, would you want to face Nadal right now with three titles under his belt, an unbeaten streak of 15, when his confidence is at an all time high and hasn't even set foot on a clay court so far this year? Scary

To balance this out, Djokovic will be fired up after missing the AO. Will be an interesting match if it happens.

This is utmost disrespect full. Nadal has always complemented his opponents in his losses. Show me one instance where Nadal was delusional and unwilling to accept his loss??

When he lost to Tsonga at Australian Open 2008

He said this about Tsonga's level

Is not the real level I think. Sure, he can play like this, but not every week. It's impossible.

He’s honestly the only one out of the big 3 I could see myself having a good conversation with. Fed and Nadal don’t seem like interesting personalities to me.

I despise Novak on court but yeah he’s the only one I could see myself being friends with.

The other two are so corporate and PC
