Novak Djokovic has already qualified for the ATP Finals in Turin

Tsitsipas took a wild card into Hamburg this week. He might be qualified very soon, himself.

Do you know Why has Tsitsipas gained 170 points? He lost in R1 in 2019, lost in R1 this year. Yet his total in the official Ranking has now +170. Rublev and Zverev lost in R4 and rightfully gained 170 points.
I don't understand where these points come from...

He's already secured the YE-#1 with this, hasn't he?
There are still a ton of points available this year (USO, Cincy, Canada, Indian Wells, Paris, etc). He'll probably lock it up by the USO, though, if he wins.

I actually am unsure what you are looking at. I don't see Tsitsipas gaining 170 points anywhere.

His total yesterday was 7980. New official ranking, he has 8150. Lost in R1 of Wimbledon, exactly like 2019. I dont understand where these 170 points are coming from.

I think atp changed the rules. Since then, best 18 or 19 results are counted for ranking. Him losing early in wim means other better results comes into count and wim points are not countable since those 10 points are not into 18 best.

Hmmm. You are absolutely correct, I see what you're talking about now. What must have happened (I'm just guessing here, I have no idea), is that Tsitsipas had a zero score replaced by a 180 from an ATP 500 SF. I don't know why this happened, but there are situations occasionally where players have a zero score forced on them for missing a tournament as part of the contract for being a top-30 player. I'm just spitballing here, though, because I didn't see the composition of his points pre-Wimbledon.

Djoko is defending 0 points at us open, right? Because of the disqualification? Novak will finish the year as number 1 due to medvedev defending too many points now including 1500 at the YEC. However, there is still a chance of tsitsipas overtaking novak for year end #1 if he has a really strong finish to the year. However, that is unlikely. Everyone else is too far behind.

He still has his 4th round points from 2019.

I think he qualified at the moment in time when he won AO
or did they scrap the rule saying that the GS winner who is within top 20 qualifies by default to the WTF?

I mean, with 2000 points from the GS title, it is guaranteed that the player will be in top 20
But only two slam winner , if there are four different slam winner and all are between 9-20 rank then top 2 slam winner qualify.
Ofcourse with second slam win at RG Novak eliminated any possibilities

with 4000 points he can't be outside of top 8
and now with 6000 points he will be in the driver's seat for the YE#1

Isn't winning one of the slams in the season automatically gains one's place at ATp finals or did i miss something? What about the rule of 1 slam won in men's tour?...

You have to be in top 20 for a slam winner and if there four different slam winner between rank 9 to 20 only top two slam winner get ticket to yec

it's not
1. with 2000 points one is guaranteed to be in top 20
2. with 2000 points one is almost guaranteed to be in top 10
3. the player that is able to win a GS, is very unlikely to lose every other match during the season, so you can safely add more points there, which will result in the player being easily in top 8, which is a qualifier to the WTF without exceptions

Actually original rule was only top 8 rank by atp in their yec, itf used to have different yec for players doing well at slam in that year, called their own yec Grandslam cup.
Later atp and itf merged their both yec and atp gave concessions to slam winners if they are out of top8 but ranked between 8-20 , but at max two slam winner can get concession

I understand this, but still...

Another thing, Atp initially didnt recognize Grandslam cup but later added to the players total after both yec were merged
