Cry me a river, I don’t care anymore. Please somebody post a tweet from some nobody on Twatter just to fill the holy trinity of a classic Djokovic thread.

"Nobody who has been following the news even in a casual way can be so naive about how one needs to organize a sporting even these days, especially when you're the one who could be liable for any damages."

So will Djokovic be liable for damages? Was the event sponsored at all.

Everyone has forgotten it already but when China implemented the lockdown, they were heavily criticized for it... Only for everyone to copy them months down the line!
Yes, all hail our Chinese overlords Xi Jinping and General Mao, honestly they deserve the Nobel peace prize for welding people’s doors shut and then opening them up to find dead bodies, as well as killing millions of people and harvesting organs. Amazing people!

Are you an epidemiologist, or merely a frightened sheep?

If you underestimate the implications that actions that could have been avoided and that unfortunately bring consequences to certain social groups, you are undermining the rule of law that governs a nation.
And this is not admissible, quite the contrary, it is a reason for sanction when responsibilities are found for those who violate this social pact.

Novak engaging in 11th dimensional chess while TTW posters remain at checkers. Now Novak will be immune for the USO and FO and Nadal won’t. Sad!
Rafa is healthy, so sad for you....

Look at the lockdown results worldwide.
They didn't stop the virus from spreading.
But they did ruin the world's economies and lives of millions of people.

This is NOT a special virus.
But is a special PLAN.

The amount of people as evidenced by this thread who believe that coronavirus is a hoax is honestly shocking. It's baffling how anyone would believe this given the disease has killed hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. Practically every medical expert knows there is a virus and all are trying to fight it. Every country on God's green Earth agrees that there is a virus and that it is harmful to people. Do you think these countries agreed to all propagate the idea of a fake virus? All roughly 200 of them? Even the countries that have borderline hostile relations to each other? Even the countries that disagree with each other on every other issue such as climate change? GTFO.

I mean, there are still people in first-world countries who think the Earth is flat.
Never underestimate the level of delusion people are capable of.

You're one of these people who can only see black or white.
Many of us are gifted with the ability to see multiple shades of grey.

This is not a matter of:
a) the virus is real
b) the virus is a hoax

Rather it is a matter of:
a) who created the tests?
b) how reliable are they?
c) who decided that ventilators should be used on CV patients?
d) why were they so late to change their minds about ventilators when they were killing 80% of the patients?
e) who decided to count all deaths as CV deaths even if there were multiple serious comorbidities such as terminal cancer and heart disease?
f) who decided to forbid alternate forms of treatment that had excellent track records?
g) etc.
h) etc.

TTW is its own entity, free of political influence. Pure idealistic ideals here. Duh...

The most ignorant and dangerous are always the half educated. So do not be surprised there is plenty of them.

Maybe, but there again he would have a fairly high risk of dying at his age/weight. Some would welcome that of course, not me though even though I'm no fan

I'm not trying to wish harm on him, it's more that I want people to realise this virus is no joke and if it can get to him via his ignorance of how serious it is then it can get it anyone.

But many people are saying the virus is a hoax. Read some of the above posts. That’s what I was referring to. And you’d have to be extremely ignorant to defend that position.

Seeing multiple shades of only one color is only a "gift" in the mind of someone who is critically mentally impaired.

You'd need an absurdly large amount of research to answer these questions on a board where everyone looks at a post for ten seconds.

You need to ask quickly answerable questions or find a more apporpriate forum.

The answer to e) is quite simply that there are protocols for establishing a CV death, or a flu death, even while taking into account co-morbidities. It's not an issue.

There were protocols for establishing cause of death for flu deaths and almost any other death prior to this pandemic.
All of those protocols were thrown out the window for this one.
That is why I and millions doth protest!

I could live in that bubble.
You are asking what I think is the most important question: When do you let this virus loose, among whom? Is it best to let young children play and go to school, then be progressively more care with older people so that those over 65 are pretty much in lockdown?

Here is why I ask this: I live in South Florida, Broward County. We locked down, we stayed inside. No beaches, no bars, not churches, no big groups. We are still in a high impact area, cruise ships, lots of tourists, and we are a huge megapolis.

We weren't like NYC, or some places in Europe, but it was serious. There were people wearing masks everywhere, and there are still are.

Now they have lifted some of these measures and there is an incredible boomerang in cases and hospitalizations. All the people who are conservative about taking chances are fully locked down again.

There is a saying from Yogi Bera, I think: "It ain't over till it's over."

If we are all not going to be locked down forever, or at least till there is a vaccine, we have to navigate between irresponsibility and paranoia. Has any city, state or county found the ideal compromise? In my case this has not happened.

Agree. It is obvious that we need herd immunity (although people don't seem ready to admit it), but the problme is with vulnerable people. What do we do with them? The're human beings too, they can't stay locked down for 2-3 years while we all develop immunity. They're already being driven crazy as we're talking.

I said from the beginning this thing is going to get out in the wild, that there is no stopping it, so the only question is how can we stop it from hitting the most vulnerable?

If you want to stop the virus pretty much, just find out if you have it, then stay quarantined. How do you find out? By a test that works (I don't have much confidence in the reliability of tests so far), then have everyone get tested.

Simple.

But getting this in place is anything but simple, as we've seen.

Getting a hold on Covid is a whole new thing for humanity.

The US reports 89,313 tests per million several months into this thing.

For the math challenged: That's 1/11 people. So every time you are around a group of 10, and you have not been tested, that's 10 of 11 people who don't have a clue if they have been exposed or not.

I don't think I have been exposed, but I'd like to know. But I can't, or trying to get a test would be ridiculously difficult, probably impossible.

Imagine if only one person out of 11 had his eyes checked.

Sweden is on a herd immunity strategy and they have yet to achieve it either. And at the going rate, they may soon pass countries with much larger populations when it comes to number of deaths. So even if we agree that we need to achieve herd immunity, it is not clear even how that could be achieved soon enough. Actually Sweden is on record saying in hindsight they would have found a middle ground between their existing strategy and the one (stricter lockdown) their European neighbours followed.
