Novak Djokovic is our LeBron James but we have to call him out sometimes: Nick Kyrgios

His sucking up to the CCP made me lose a lot of respect for him
China is the biggest single market for the NBA outside the USA. Ditto for Nike. Basketball is a business & it's LBJ's job ... what do you expect him to do? You wanna trash talk one of your biggest customer!

That's called hypocrisy.

East Euro persecution complex is my least favorite genre of tennis discussion. Its the ultimate cope to deflect from negative scrutiny. Nobody cares or thinks about where these guys are from when forming reactions.

News flash, Kyrgios is widely panned and regarded as a joke. He gets headlines because he generates clicks and revenue, and because even if he shows up twice per year those two matches end up being more entertaining than most of what we see all year.

I didn't even go into Eastern European this or that, which is another topic altogether. I'm talking about the difference being from a powerful rich country compared to not being from one. It could be Indonesia or Yemen for all I care and it would be the same thing.

Then if he's widely panned, why did I have look at his mug plastered on ESPN on the main news section a couple of days ago? Why is he getting all this mainstream press like he's one of the premier names and most successful players in tennis when he's won basically nothing and never spent one week on the top 10? Because he's from Australia. He generates clicks because he gets pushed out there by mainstream media when nobody should hear much about this guy. Entertaining? Ivanisevic and Krajicek were more entertaining and they actually could win something more than a 500 tournament.

Lebron Negative James. `

:-D

What's hypocritical about it?
Showing deference to a big customer who puts food on your table & allows you to take care of your family!

some posters live in Wonderland, so they don't need to worry about things that are important for the rest of us, mere mortals
you need to take this into account

Maybe Kyrgios can skip tennis this year and team up with James to find the racists that spray painted his garage.

Whos the nba goat?
The GOAT debate is an evergreen one suited for any occasion, yet it isn’t one NBA players find too hard to decide. According to a survey by The Athletic, polling 117 NBA players, the best player of all time is Michael Jordan, and overwhelmingly so. Jordan took a rousing 73% of the vote, while his two biggest rivals in LeBron James and Kobe Bryant only mustered less than 12% of the vote each:
Michael Jordan (73%)
LeBron James (11.9%)
Kobe Bryant (10.6%)
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1.7%)
Magic Johnson, Allen Iverson, Kevin Durant (1%)

“When people start comparing him with Jordan, then that’s not a fair comparison. Jordan was a far more superior player in a very tough league, and he was very creative. That’s not taking away anything from LeBron because he is a great player, but it is not a fair comparison because Jordan is a far superior player.”

And Defensive Player Of The Year.
MJ is better than LeBron at defense and offense, so no matter how big LeBron's assist and rebound numbers are.....MJ wins at both ends.
Plus I think MJ is the most underrated passer ever, and certainly one of the most entertaining passers ever.
I shudder to think what MJ would do in today's NBA, now that they leave the paint wide-open most of the time, and call the softest fouls on the perimeter......scary to think how easy it would be for MJ today.

GOAT between Ronaldo or Messi and why??

If Djokovic is the LeBron James of tennis, which NBA player shall we compare Kyrgios to? DeMarcus Cousins? Someone who is often injured, hasn’t won much and commits the most fouls? The guy is more of a social media sh#t-stirrer these days than he is a top threat as a tennis player.

25 million, not 15, and it does get rolled into the anglosphere ... but that got us into the G7 plus 3 so that's not too shabby for Rachel.

Australia is not exactly a rich and powerful country, it has 15 million people isolated on the other side of the world. It gets rolled into the anglosphere press as a distant cousin

Your comment is also self refuting, he generates clicks because he’s entertaining, especially to Americans. You can put PCB on any as many ESPN front pages as you want and no ones gonna care

You mentioned Medvedev, meanwhile Safin was from Russia too and one of the most beloved popular players

Speaking of NBA comparisons, Michael Jordan had knee tendinitis throughout his entire career, as did Nadal.
And Michael Jordan broke his foot very early in his career, as did Nadal.
