This is what I posted on this thread. :)

OK, since so many are asking, I might as well say it. The Hitman is retiring in more ways than one, yes, I am finishing off my competitive fitness and bodybuilding lifestyle, but I will be getting engaged next year to a very wonderful lady, and probably married very soon after that. Time to start a family. I am also going to be spending a lot of time next year focusing on my new online fitness business, so I will be spending a lot time getting that off the ground, that will take a lot of effort to make it a success, but I have game plan. Unfortunately all these things mean I won't really have time to stay an active member here with all of you.
We had our disagreements, but you weren't an idiot and you contributed a whole lot to the forum. You will be missed, @Hitman.

saw him play murray...it didn't look like djokovic was too interested in laying it all out there..also missed two reeallly easy shots and didn't even react much... reminds me of when courier was burnt out and ended up reading a book on changeovers..

Final goodbye to all my friends here. I said it before, and I will say it again, I wouldn't change the six and half years of my life that I spent here with all of you for anything. I had a blast with all of you, if I offended anyone in any way during my time here, I apologize. And I hope you all enjoy the rest of your time here and the many upcoming tennis seasons. Be good to each other. Remember, sport is a universal language and it is meant to bring us together...My other half is calling me, it's time for The Hitman to go. Goodbye TTW. :)

This is what you really meant to post. See you back here in a few weeks. ;)

The thing that really was evident in today's match is how freakishly thin Novak is. Obviously he was always very thin, but at his peak, he had great muscle mass in his abs and shoulders. He looks wasted away now, not even athletic, just borderline emaciated. It's almost shocking and not in a good way.

Damn.. really don't know what to say here. I wish you all the best with your beautiful girlfriend and your business. You were one of the best posters I've ever gotten to know on this message board. I can't blame you for leaving, since I've also been playing around with the same thought for mostly career-related reasons. Goodbye, you will definitely be missed. I guess we can all comfort ourselves with the thought that no player or poster is bigger than the sport, but you're coming very close I must say.

What do you think the cause of this is ? Is it depression ? David Law said today, in his podcast, that Djokovic looked downright depressed on the court in yesterdays final. Depression can cause weight loss, no doubt.

I said a week or so ago, that I think his wife, might of had a bad affect on him. This whole "vegan" thing etc.

Look at the difference between Djokovic and the bulked up Murray.

In my opinion, something has gone a bit wrong in his personal life. The change to the vegan diet and the influence of Guru Pepe are probably manifestations of this. He seems a bit distracted and not as focussed as he was.

Am I the only one who still doesn't understand why the Hitman won't post here anymore?

He may simply have lost interest in tennis or at least in talking about it. It does sometimes happen that certain long-standing posters will decide to leave a messageboard because of loss of interest due to some change in their lives. I have seen it happen before on other messageboards.

The thing is, that after an 18 month period of total domination, a NCYGS etc, you would expect a bit of a lull. A bit of a downturn. But this has manifested physically as well, which is troublesome. And I get the feeling that the off season is not enough time to recuperate. Andy said he will take 2 weeks off, and then he is back in training and will play Doha etc. No signs of any of that from Novak. Unbelievable stuff.

Sure, but why make a statement about it? It is almost as if this is some watershed moment for him. Not how I saw the Hitman, to be frank.

You've been a great member here, Hitman. I wish you best of life and hope your new business will flourish. Enjoy life with your beautiful wife, but you should come back here when things settle down a bit!

Am I the only one who still doesn't understand why the Hitman won't post here anymore?

Me neither, but it's his decision so I guess that is that. He may come back when things settle down in his life, hopefully.

Yes, I would ask the moderators to please delete my posts at least. And my apologies to the great Hitman, who doesn't deserve this.

You behaviour is sickening.

Even when you pretend to care about a fellow poster and would do good, beacuse he "doesn't deserve this", you left out the post that you think is insulting undeleted.

Also, your "appeal" to the Moderators as an attempt to "be on the right side" when you could well do this (and I believe you did) yourself.

I think that it is one of those rare occasions where Hitman is wrong (about you).

I was going to delete my posts, but after the mockery you have made out of yet another situation, I will leave them for everyone to see.

Hitman is a great guy and I don't think that any of this will "taint" in any way his farewell party (I know that he may change his mind, so I am not saying a final "Goodbye").

Great thread/post and good luck with everything, Hitman. You will be dearly missed on this site, maybe you will come back one day. :)

I agree with hitman. Novak is simply lacking the fire since FO'16.

Why, he gave it all in FO'16 and doesn't have much left.
In 2015, he chased Roger like anything. IW, Wimbledon, US OPen, WTF he had the urge, the extra motivation to beat Roger. He lacks that now.

Whereas Murray is determined. He has become the Novak of 2015,2011 and 2016(first half). I fully expect Murray to dominate AO 2017 and Novak to have doubts.
If Novak loses Ao 2017, he's gone.

Murray is the Arsenal of tennis. He will find a way to waste the opportunity presented to him by his rivals' decline.

The fear factor has now transferred to Murray.
I'm reading quotes from Djokovic saying he felt he had very little chance of beating Murray (and that's a tired Murray no doubt) before the match.
That's very worrying psychology on Djokovic's part.
I know Djokovic was also recognising his own general poor form but still very worrying for him.

Djokovic always said he got to the top because he believed he finally believed could beat Nadal and Federer. Now with lost belief, having obtained all 4 majors, personal issues, potential lingering injuries, he could be done at the top. He may still win another1 or 2 majors and tie Rafa but getting 18 will be out of reach.

I still think it's too early to throw the baby out with the bath water in regards to a possible Djokovic decline as I'm still of the opinion that his current drop is more due to mental & motivational fatigue, something which can potentially be overcome with a decent break and a hit of the reset button.

With that said though his WTF loss to Murray is perhaps the most telling loss in all he's had since winning the FO. All his other losses have come against players who you'd typically expect him to beat with relative ease (JMDP being possible exception), losing to Murray, his main rival and with the YE #! ranking on the line is in my opinion the best indicator to date that perhaps we are right to start questioning whether he's experiencing a legitimate decline.

Like mentioned at the top, I still expect him to bounce back and to win more Slams...guess this loss to Murray has created a little more doubt towards what we can expect from Djokovic in 2017 and beyond!

We're losing a good one but we have been without two of the best for a while now...where have you gone @zagor and @Nathaniel_Near, a nation turns its lonely eyes to you???
Backhanded compliment right there. A "good one" ? One of the greats, who wiped the floor of both Nadal and Federer in the past 4 years.

Okay: Rusty came in made a post to Hitman offering services for free to help with an aspect of his business venture. You came in and posted an inflammatory .gif mocking him and starting an entire flame war in this thread, which wasn't even about you... Then you have the audacity to tell me that "some manners will do me good."

And another strangely tame loss for Novak Djokovic, featuring 30 unforced errors. It sparks renewed questions about the world number two's sudden decline.
2017 will be interesting in that regard, if he does not win the Australian Open it could be the point of no return I am afraid.

Rusty's offer was generous and I wouldn't have said anything, if it was sincere and didn't end with the tasteless remarks about paying or not paying.

Among people of certain class these things are either self-explanatory or are taken off-line and dealt with.

His remark was what told me that he thinks about himself, rather than for his fellow poster. The last thing to do, when the thread is centered around the said person.

That much for your ability to understand what was going on in this conversation.

I will briefly mention that you were not at all appaled by either your or his profane language (hence my remark that you need factual manners), when none such language was offered from me.

As for the rest: I am not here to please you or anyone else. If you find my posts that problematic you know how you can avoid them.

I will also mention (in this regard) that you grossly misunderstand where you are (another one of my remarks that you apparently missed).

To make it clear: this is not a place for serious "contributions" so you might want to get off your high horse .... Mr. Big and Dangerous.

EDIT: Don't bother to respond.
