Novak Djokovic's Training Secrets at 38: Strength, Flexibility & Injury Prevention Mastery!

BTW is he even playing any warm up tourneys before Wimbledon? Unless I missed it I didn't see him on any of the draws. I get that he's gotta conserve his meds these days but seems he'd take a few matches in a tax-friendly haven first. Just something against a Tom Machac or someone like that who will wither away by the third game of the match.

You are clearly not aware of how Djokovic prepares for Wimbledon it seems. You won't see him until Boodles, where he will play a few exhos and then it is Wimbledon only. He has followed this formula for years now.

I'd like to see him play a couple of warm up tournaments before WB, maybe next year if he skips clay.

Do not exclude the factor of remarkably good genes. How the likes of Srdjan managed to pass them on is a mystery but genetic inheritance can be so fickle. I firmly believe that is an important factor in his astonishing longevity and continuing fitness.

Boodles is where Novak will be next and if you fancy a day out posing and rubbing shoulders with higher brass and dressing up and like a bit of aristocracy, its worth a day out there.

I've never been.

How do you know he didn't inherit all his athletic genes from his momma?

Things are also changing for him now, there's no normal or routine anymore. Before this year, who could've imagined him skipping Rome to play a 250 the week before Roland Garros instead?

If he suddenly decided he wanted to play a real grass warm-up event, no one should be shocked.

Well. To be fair he hasn’t been all that good in 2 years LOL. Basically since November of 2023. The pathetic field makes him look better than he is at the moment. Let’s be honest. If he was 37-38 ten-fifteen years ago the younger guys and Fedal would be embarrassing him with bakery products. Now he just shows glimpses of his old self but it’s becoming more and more rare. He showed a little bit at the Australian of his old self this year but it was brief

I'd put part of that down to him giving a silent middle finger to Rome for the whole bottle incident last year.

If he plays, we will see, but his prep is well known, it works perfectly for him, 6 W finals in a row and considering he also played a lot of matches between Geneva and RG, yes I would be shocked. he doesn't need the matches now, this isn't like the gap between AO and RG where he was clearly looking unmotivated and needed to get his engines running.

Sort of. I've seen him play Queens, Eastbone, even Mallorca.

He played Queens in 2018 which was seven years ago, Eastbourne back in 2017....the only reason he was in Mallorca was because he was invited by Toni Nadal for the inauguration of the event.

Djokovic doesn't really play grass warm ups outside of exhos in Boodles at this stage of his career.
