Novak got a suspicious case of food poisoning

In his post-match press conference, Novak said that he's been dealing with food poisoning for the past few days, making him lightheaded on court. He didn't know how he got the stomach bug, but suspected that it was from something he ate. What are the chances that some rogue hotel employee tried poisoning his food to take him out of Wimbledon? This isn't unheard of, happening to both Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan in the NBA Playoffs while they were staying in hotels on the road. Players are staying in the bubble, so all the food they eat is being delivered. We all know that tennis fans can get passionate about protecting their favorite players and hurting their rivals (see Monika Seles), and there is no shortage of Federer fanatics at Wimbledon who would love to knock Novak out of the tournament.

Looks like St. Nick wasn't playing Call of Duty in his basement all this time after all

Did Roger send him any smoothies by chance? Remember when Kyrgios mysteriously withdrew after a tainted smoothie?

They would have been better off adding gluten powder to the HVAC system in his hotel. Trying to give food poisoning to one particular person staying at a hotel is kind of hit and miss.

A stomach bug and feeling light headed on court.......and none of the next gen players were able to even take a set off of him!

Yes, there are days I believe Novak as not only the GOAT but beyond comprehension for his magnificent touch and other days where the injury and illness are his way of playing the PR game.

Imagine if he DID NOT have food poisoning, he would be TRIPLE bagelling these players.
Even a E- game Novak is beating everyone in straights.

Even i feel this, The Rogues in the crowd are nothing but indicative of the attitude of the general population. If there are rogues in the crowd, chances are that there will be there in the hotel staff also.

Hostility 'acumulated' clearly degrades his focus / motivation towards the end of forthnight. Not enough to lose to mugs, more like a nasty taste in mouth. Or that 'thing'in stomach he said he felt.

Funny thing - stadium did only that one applause for let. But he promptly responded with his applause to them. He was stiff in 1st set, he was a bit 'strung within' for almost all 3.

So, it probably is not any food by itself. It is the disgust for the 'vibe' of faked respect.

Edit: lousy 1st serve and lousy RoS did remind me of their versions at W19 finals.

This can also be an indicator that Novak is reaching the seasonal peak in his physical training, the time when body is more susceptible to germs because there's so much physical stress and recovery from it that the immune system gets weaker.

Don't worry about it. If he gets injured whoever wins the next major will be a vulture because hypothetical healthy Djokovic could not play but would have won if his concrete unhealthy self had been good enough to stay healthy.
