Here is list of their meetings in slams

1)USO 2008 - Federer bt. Murray 6-2 7-5 6-2 (F)

2)AO 2010 - Federer bt. Murray 6-3 6-4 7-6(F)

3)Wimbledon 2012 - Federer bt. Murray 4-6 7-5 6-3 6-4(F)

Now Federer is leading 4-1 in slams against 'Wimbledon Champion' with 14-5 set advantage. In my opinion it's great achievement by Roger leading memeber of 'Fab Four' 4-1 in slams ( Though 2-8 against King Rafa and 6-5 against Djokovic).

Federer is a great player and he's obviously not done yet, despite what many people like to think.

And he's especially great whenever he plays the Slams, especially the first one of the season. As I said in a thread I've just started, he has never failed to make the semis of the Australian Open since he first won there in 2004!

Players like Murray have to be playing at peak level to beat him when he's on form. Peak Murray managed this last year. Post-Op, recovering Murray had little realistic chance given Fed's current form.

Put another way. Since Murray finally gained the confidence to become a Grand Slam champion in his own right, his Slam H2H with Federer now stands at 1-1! :)

Murray surely have game to trouble Federer like he shown in 3rd set of current encounter but Federer at slam and in form is unbeatable expect King Rafa.Even peak Djokovic with 42 match winning streak couldn't beat in form Federer on his worst surface let alone Murray on Hard courts. Last year Murray was at peak level and Federer at worst and still Federer stretched Murray in 5 with just 'Fighting Spirit'.I don't think Federer was playind his best in 2013 and 2014 also but still enough to beat Murray ( Wimbledon Champion ) at 32 , which feels more impressive to me.

^Dude Alchemist, I know you're trying to emphasise on the fact that Federer beat an "in form" Murray by writing Wimbledon champion again & again in brackets. Everyone knows Murray is Defending Wimbledon champion, no need to (highlight it)

Murray came back after 4 months during which he had a surgery! He's NOT completely match-fit. Even Tsonga & Hewitt were able to defeat him in last few weeks.

So please stop with this "Murray is better than before" crap!

^Dude TheAnty-Vic Tsonga,Hewitt beat Murray(Wimbledon Champion:lol:)this year in exhibition matches, which not counted in H2H. ( Do some home work before posting ).While Federer beat 'Wimbledon Champion' in slam in BO5 match at 32,coming after poor year and new racquet.Federer was also injured in 2013 and mentally hampered but still easily beat Tsonga and 'Wimbledon Champion' back to back.

I wonder how you have hyped Rafa if he would achieved same feat:lol:
You must be saying Rafa beat Murray 2.0 with Forehand 2*better than before, under coaching of Lendl, and great victories under his belt with great confidence.

Federer was also injured in 2013 but he never hidden behind 'So called Injuries'.

Now coming to Murray's level of play which is much better than 2013 but simply outplayed by superior player.Give him some credit.

So what you're saying is 11-14 against the rest of this "Fab Four". Hmm....

The roof beaten Murray in 2012 Wimbledon and Murray is still clearly still not at 100% so far in 2014 - you've conveniently forgotten that.

Roger never 'hid' behind injuries LOL. Whenever he loses, he comes out with the standard I wasn't 100% bull00cks just like when he lost to Berdych at Wimbldon 2010. Don't even get started on the 'Mono'...

New excuse again. Roof was closed after Federer leveled the match winning second set 7-5.Now use injury card for next 20 years:lol:

Just wondering, were you saying as such before the match and saw Federer as a very heavy favourite, or is this stated in retrospect.

I believe Mainad has always talked down Murray's chances at this year's Australian Open. Most people, aside from fastgrass know that Murray was not yet at 100% and that it takes a lot more than beating a 2,000 ranked journeyman in a tournament and playing a couple of exhibition matches to get to full fitness.

This is a wrong time to be rubbing on Murray and his fans. He is coming back from injury and I hope to see him do well.

Still in hang over:lol: Murray beat F.Lopez who is seeded 26th in route to Q.F. and gave tons of Bakery Products to first 4 opponents.but simply outplayed by superior opponent or it hard to grasp:)

I am taking positives from Murray's run, in my opinion his Forehand and Defense are much solid than ever as he's pain free now. Even Murray fans saying he was hitting more Backhand DTL than ever or 18 months period. He was solid but Federer not allowed him to grind rushing the net 67 times in the match and Winning 74% of Net points.

Do some homework before posting:)

The same Lopez who lost to a way, way, waaaaaay past his prime Hewitt? You are right, Federer was superior in this meeting but had Murray been at full health it may have been a different story.

His forehand was better, but his defense was easily exposed. It was not up to par and if you did your homework you would understand this. But your name is fastgrass, so we will all assume you aren't capable of this.

I would not say he is completely pain free yet. He was grabbing at his back during crucial points in the match.. clearly a sign he is not at full health yet.

6-5 against Djokovic. Correct that OP

Rafa - 2-9
DJokovic 6-5
Murray 4-1

Overall 13-13 against 'Fab 4' in slams.

Counting not your strong point? Maybe you should take your shoes and socks off? 2+6+4 = 12 or at least it did when I went to school. 9+5+1 = 15.

So overall, he's 12-15 against the 'Fab Four'.

Hurray...he dominates a "Big" member of the Fab 4" by 2 matches in 5 setters.
Indeed greatest achievement.

sorry, but Federer did not play that well against Murray at this AO.

he didn't have to because Murray level was quite low overall.

for some who used that win as some preminition Federer would defeat Nadal in the semis; was incredibly short-sighted...
