What can you say. Wish they recover quickly, but Nole was indeed silly. I hope this brings everyone to realization that Covid-19 is real and it is still here to catch us.

I think this is all part of the plan to win USO20. Now Djoko has all the antibodies needed to withstand any COVID attack at USO20. Clever. :sneaky:
No obligation for 14 days quarantine, he should be allowed to visit Manhattan also, everything that he was fighting for, now is at his disposal. Smart move...

Most stupid decision ever by a top sportsman.

I don't even know who comes closest to this . Roscoe Tanner not making child support payments and defrauding people with fake checks ?

Hopefully he can drop his anti-vaxx stance , water healing therapy and other nonsense.

Has there been any news on how Dimitrov is doing, as far as recovery? If I try to Google it, all I get is news about Djokovic.

Serious question: does Jelena stand by Djokovic's nonsense or could this be something that causes major strife? You would think protecting the kids would be number one priority, not tennis exhibition.

does Jelena stand by Djokovic's

Jelena stands by her man.

They are Serbian and they are Orthodox Christians. Those two major factors have a huge influence on their relationship.

Many try to apply Western atheist values to others. Big mistake in the case of Novak and Jelena, or many married couples who live in that part of the world.

When did Zverev’s neck get so massive? Looks like a tree stump

You have pretty much crossed into the disturbing category with your recent posts. There is really nothing more to talk about with you on this subject.

I absolutely support @octogon . People have died and will die. It's not just about your tennis crush.
Imagine brushing off people who have lost loved ones just because you are a pathetic sports fan. Shameful and massively self-centered.

Hey, Novak made a mistake. I'm o.k. with that. We all make mistakes.
What I'm not o.k. with is willful ignorance. Novak's 'apology' was extremely weak and his concern for others also came across as meek.
I don't actually think he is sorry other than for the impact on himself and his family. (Leaving the others to do their testing, while he ran off back to Serbia, only reinforces the image that he didn't care about the others.)

The man is an amazing tennis player, perhaps, or likely, the best ever, but that doesn't mean that we should ignore the fact that he ignores science and medicine, which ended up putting others at risk.

I also want to say that this event wasn't all on Djoko. Every other player chose to be there. Every fan chose to be there. Every official chose to be there. But he did fan the flames and actively encouraged everyone to get involved.

ok not to put salt on the wound, but come on!!
Nole only called people he would know they would accept to play in that environment that lacked of any safeness!
If he had called Rafa or Federer or Murray or Fognini lol, Wawrinca, Monfils, or others do you think they would have accepted? No way. Why? Cause they know it would have been way soo risky for them but most of all for their families!!!!!!!
Nole is a great player but as far of brain here he did not show any at all.
Besides this could actually damaged the sport it self, in fact tennis is barely played now. so there might be thoughts to even stop it again until safer.

Fognini is actually a very good friend of Novak. I suspect Fog was asked but turned down the invitation given his home country’s experience with this virus.

I agree that they shouldn't have them. Do you? You've been a mega-supporter of Novak's. I'm curious as to what you think about other tournaments right now. (By the way, what are these tournaments. I'd like to look them up.)

I know i know and Fognini as you are saying probably turned him down, but can you imagine Fognini what he probably thought and say out loud to Flavia? lol

And playing any tournament or exhibition does not automatically make it like the one Novak participated in. If all due precautions were followed in the one Thiem played in, why would it be a problem? The problem is this moron actually made contact all around and with people who have tested positive.

Tennis is about one of the safest sports you can play if you implement proper safety protocols. We have to start somewhere. Novak showed us what not to do. But hopefully these other tournaments can serve as a decent trial run for official ATP/WTA tourneys, and as warmups for the players.

UTS with Thiem and Tsitsipas:

Murray is doing a Battle of the Brits thing, he plays Edmund tomorrow:

Lajovic and Frajinovic who played in the Djokovic exho are also playing tomorrow

You can look at ongoing tennis matches here:

Lol did you read that guy's posts!? Healthy criticism yes, shadenfreude, dislike, hate why not, but this dude was on completely another level.
If I'm Djokovic I wouldn't want to be around that guy in a radius of 100 miles, that's for sure. ;)

Who’s they? Serbia? After they’ve handled this I’m not going to accept whatever position they thought was right. Here in australia we have only allowed 2,000 fans at a stadium in the last week and we’ve had 103 deaths. So don’t try to tell me that these countries had a decent approach to this.

And I’m not solely blaming Djokovic. Everyone involved should have the book thrown at them. Their selfish greed has cost the entire tennis tour to be (likely) canceled for the year.

I'm not saying that letting people watch football in stadium is a decent approach.
And I'm not saying that Novak has ZERO guilt.
But blaming everything on Novak is another extreme, and we need to say to people that they can't blame Novak for everything, everyone needs to take responsibility for own decisions / actions.

For what???
Did he break the law?
Did he force anyone to participate or attend?

Yes, the idea was probably not the best at this time, however, it may be that Grigor (coming from the US, to Bulgaria, to Serbia, to Bulgaria, to Croatia) may have brought this and not being tested entering EU may have been a problem. May have nothing to do with Belgrade or Zadar events...

or perhaps not following safety protocols was the problem.
one could use different balls for every player
one could avoid hand shakes
one could avoid basketball
one could avoid football
it was not necessary to go to the night club
check all the group photos and try to find the social distancing there
check the photos with Novak meeting the guests in Belgrade airport, try to find the social distancing there

so yes, sure, it is EU fault for not testing Grigor and Grigor fault for infecting everyone

they actually live in Monaco.
and they are more Western than you could imagine.
if they were so much Orthodox, they probably wouldn't dodge paying taxes in Serbia
