Nebraska is D1. The D1 conference alignments seem to change every year, but the D1 schools don't, so even if Nebraska changes conferences, they will still be D1. Nebraska was in the Big 8 then that changed to the Big 12 then they (and Texas) left that conference to join the Big 10, which now has 12 teams (and the Big 12 has 10...). The conferences originally were geographically aligned, but are less so since all of the conference switching began about 10 years ago.

Ah, thank you. So do they just play each other within one group/conference and that's it?

OP:
Big congrats! I hope you're getting a lot of funding and support in exchange for your blood, sweat and tears. Get the education you need and have fun.

BTW, you seem to have bulked up quite a bit. Nice going.

I went with a pretty good scholarship so it was worth it! I also have been working out and eating more healthy than in the first video!

Played against a guy that played at the University of Wisconsin a couple years back today! He has taken some time off, but he could sure still hit the ball! Went well. won 3-2 in our games to a 11 and won the one tiebreak we played!

I'm thinking strong 5.0 or 5.5. Weird FH takeback (but still efficient), great 2HBH, good consistency, good footwork/balance, decent volleys.

I'm out for a couple days because I think I am developing insertional Achilles tendentious..

Didn't play today and won't until about thursday. :( Just not worth trying to battle through it and risking a tear and being out for a year.

Gonna do some upper body workouts while on the break. Would hot yoga be bad for it? or just yoga in genereal

He'd fit right in 5.0 leagues and do well in Open tourneys. I hit with some local D1 grads from GMU, who mostly make it into the finals of Men's Open $$$ tourneys and they hit like that. They play in 5.0 leagues but mainly because there are no 5.5 leagues around. There's no way he's 4.5, simply too good for that.

I agree that Conner doesn't have the best looking FH, but to be honest a lot of weekend warriors on here think technique is everything. I'm sure Conner got to where he is not because of his technique, but because of his drive, mental toughness, agility, footwork, and all that other stuff that nobody talks about. I'd take that package over a beautiful FH any day. (And to Conner, I say all this with absolutely no offense, but with great respect!)

And a big grats on UNO, you've inspired my younger brother (rising sophomore in HS) to improve his recruiting rankings as quickly and as well as you have. I wish you the very best in your college career!

Thank you!! That means a lot to me! I don't have the best looking strokes at all, but with enough practice and form of stroke can get half way decent!

Tell your brother to keep practicing hard. That's the biggest thing. Think about what you want to improve the most and go out practice a lot and hard!

I think your strokes look fine. On your forehand, you take your racquet straight back to the "pat the dog" position, like Federer's forehand, without the circular windup. The circular windup is mostly a timing/rhythm device. Your timing and rhythm are excellent without it, and you eliminate a variable you don't need. You could add it if you wanted to, but, I'm not sure it would improve your stroke production. Your backhand looks excellent as well.

The only things I saw that I could comment on is you have just a bit too much backswing on your backhand volley (keep the racquet head out front, don't let it get behind you), and you still need more upper body rotation on your serve. I think a wider, more circular arch in your windup would help promote that.

I've been told that about my backhand volley before too. A coach that was going against me told me that after a match against his players. I think I have fixed the out front with my volleys a little since 10 months ago. Hard to think that video was taken that long ago!

New serve video. Also created a serve comparison thread from my earlier serving video!

I don't know if it's the angle, but it looks like you aren't really jumping into the court. You seem to be jumping up and sideways more than forwards toward your target. If you look, you can see that your feet never end up inside the baseline and only ocassionaly touch it.

I hope your tendonitis gets better soon.

On serve, when you toss the ball, slide your left hip toward the target and turn your back to the target. In the trophy pose, your chest should be facing the back right corner of the fence and your left shoulder should be almost directly above your right shoulder. From this position, with your shoulders turned and tilted, your spine is tilted back. In that tilted position, roll your upper body forward so that your right shoulder moves up and forward to the ball. At contact, your shoulders have reversed positions so that your right shoulder is almost directly above your left shoulder. This rotation will add the mass of your upper body to your arm swing and add a ton of free power and spin, and will save your arm and shoulder in the long run.

As it is, in the trophy pose, you don't turn at all. In fact, you actually turn to the target slightly. Your left shoulder never moves to the right and your hip slide is too small resulting in insufficient shoulder tilt. What you are left with is an arm serve. You make heroic efforts to hit it big, and you do a very good job of it. But, your serve could be so much bigger. With your arm and sufficient UBR, you could have a serve that is literally unbreakable.

Went to the doctor today and am cleared to play! He said it was from probably switching shoes. I've played with Nikes for a very long time and or head shoes and switching to adidas shoes was probably the main cause. I am going to write down everything I want to work on in the next month or so before college and will hopefully post a video of my improvements!!

I'm just really excited to be able to play again. I was getting worried that I would be out for a long time with this, but thats hopefully not the case!!

I have been playing the last couple days and my achillis has felt great! A little sore at times, but after a break of sitting for awhile it isn't sore or anything. I have noticed if I wake up early in the middle of the night it'll be sore which is really weird?
