NTRP vs. Golf Handicap

How does the tennis rating system compare with the golf handicap system?

For example, I assume a 6.0 to 7.0 tennis player would be equivalent to a scratch golfer.

If that's the case, what would the handicap equivalent be for a 4.5 tennis player? Perhaps 15 or 20?

Just curious.

Thanks.

Should be possible to work out if someone can pull the data on both - should just be a matter of matching up the percentages. Interesting concept, by the way :)

6.0 to 7.0 = scratch or better
5.0 = Handicap index of 4 or better
4.5 = HI of 8 or better
4.0 = HI of 12 or better
3.5 = 18 or better
3.0 = 26 or better
2.5 = all others

I am a 4.0 with a handicap of about 11. The above comparison is based on the fact that the majority of recreational golfers play bogey golf, give or take 5 strokes. The majority of tennis players are 3.5 give or take a few fractions of a point.
